Just loved these quotes (link below) from QC (Quade Cooper). It's great to hear a good player talking with a lot of pride, no bullshit, nothing whatever from the Modern Dictionary of Meaningless Media Statements and Management Gobbledegook (take notice Robbie). Surely this is 'ARU - Uncensored'...and all the better for it.

I love the talk of ruthlessness, anger, in-your-face, take no crap from the ABs, we are out for the kill now, take-no-prisoners boys, we want to be No 1. This is a lot of what I have been missing in recent Wallaby-speak and, until very recently, Wallaby play throughout the 80. Steve Waugh would be clapping.

The right words can sometimes be omens for the right things to come.

Most reasonable people would be far more impressed with Rocky's immediate response to the young upstart's after-the-whistle push and shove. Cooper and the female company he keeps are indeed suited.

Tough people don't talk themselves up about being tough.
QC (Quade Cooper) can do a lot of good things, buth ruthlessness & pride in his defence is severely lacking.
Tough, ruthless teams take pride in making the opposition earn every step they take. They give nothing away cheaply.
That is not how QC (Quade Cooper) plays. Actions speak louder than words.
Maybe QC (Quade Cooper) should stop "spinning his game to the press"and actually do a bit of tackling practice.

I generally prefer players to let their performances do the talking, but I'm happy that the boys are shooting to be No. 1. Even publically. It's what every international team should be doing.

I just like to see something said by a player or official that is clear, unambiguous and not the same of PR lines. Thank you for that at least Quade.

Once his Defence is as good as his offensive he can be that cocky, and self sure, until then, back onto the field and practise with your old 5/8th partner.... Pocock, who game in game out doesnt miss tackles...

No backward steps? That's just begging for someone to start statistics on how many backward steps QC (Quade Cooper) takes when attempting to make tackles.

I am 100% with RH (wtf??) and Qwade on this.

We bag the fuck out of the Wallabies for being soft-cocks and getting owned - they show a bit of mettle and we call it 'unseemly'

In the level of rugby I, and I suspect 99% of guys on this site played, playing to a chummy convivial schoolboys code of a game is all well and good. Anyone I've talked to who goes beyond will tell you that all flies out of the window as you get towards the top. It's all about mental as well as physical domination. These guys are playing for their and their families livelihoods - unwritten codes of conduct be fucked.

The Kiwis have got no problem with it. Watch Nonu around any ruck or tackle - he's pushing, shoving, handbagging whenever he gets a chance. Cowan is a living, breathing ball of niggle. What about Woodcock giving Maafu a slap in the face after a scrum and then backing off in Sydney. Where were the howls of indignation calling him a coward?

No, as Steve Waugh said it's all about forcing mental disintegration. Of course you cant do that if you're getting owned, but if you're close, like we are, it can be the edge that makes the difference. How many times have we seen the Wallabies pipped lately through brain farts?

As for Cooper's defence having to be excellent first - bugger that. There's no reason why it can't and shouldn't get better - like KBs has - but that's never going to be his point of difference. Quade's owning people in attack - that's where his dominance comes from, and I'd say he's earned the right to give a few 'fuck you's' based on it. He certainly put Carter in the shade last weekend.

More please

Let the man talk trash if he wants....if he can't back it up then he'll look the worse for it.

I doubt he put Carter in the shade though. When Carter left the field the ABs were up twice as many points as the Wallabies. Some may argue that his benching was the most influential factor in the game. Personally, I think the Wallabies did what they had to win and that's that but I'm just saying...

Agree Gagger but even though I played thirsty thirds it was still competitive and had a fair bit of niggle, not that I would ever involve myself in such underhanded tactics, I just heard about it later of course.

I don't believe any forward who has graced the field can claim they haven't dished out niggle.

...and most of us either are or were forwards. I have no hesitation in saying niggle was probably the strongest part of my game 8)

Heck, I'm a back three player and I love niggle. Worst part of playing 15 is the lack of rucking you get to do.

You're bullshitting. No mirror holding pansy boy aka as 'backs' likes niggle. They could break a nail or heaven forbid mess their hair. :D Personally being a Prop niggle was my specialty. Nothing better than getting into a yo mama session with your opposing Prop.

It's harder to quip the Dozen's with your opposing number when you're usually 40 metres apart. And let's not forget the stimulus for starting this discussion about niggle was the actions of a back :D

Cheekiest niggle I've seen? Giving a players headgear a tug in one direction so it spins around and covers their face. I had to laugh.

You blokes have to be joking. Think Wallaby hard men in the modern game: Kefu, Nathan Grey, Jim Williams - they let their game do the talking. Now think other rugby hard men - Bakkies Botha, Brad Thorn, Carly Hayman... not too many media trash talkers there. Quade is getting caught up in his own publicity and its not going to end well for him or the Wallabies. Pride cometh before a fall. I know champions are arrogant but its usually an internal self belief rather than being a walking headline.

Non coached answers are a good and interesting thing.

Trash taking punks are just plain sad.

I want the Wallabies to be fired up and playing to win - and if they are doing that (think Genia, Sharpe, Pocock, Elsom, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Moore, McCalman...) there will be no need for taking themselves up.

Yes, it is a professional sport, but the example of other sports tellls us that the financial demands of a professional sport require that individual players are not complete bogans ie if you are on the nose, the sponsors will run.

Showing a bit of class is compatibe with winning, and it is comercially desireable too.

Funny bits of niggle ive seen, last year me and a mate played for a club 1st XV, he is a feisty 9 but is tiny. At a ruck he saw the opposition 8 slowing the ball down and nutted him lol, the 8 was about 30 and huge, was so funny.

Funny things to do at a ruck are to pull their shirt over their head and pull them about, grab their leg and pull them out the side of a ruck then drag them around for a bit
I'm sure there are others

I love rucking and I play 10, I also love a bit of the argie bargie when im into the match

How is pride & ruthlessness equate into a cheap shove of McCaw on the ground after a try? I would hope Deans would have given him a rocket for a classless decision
