Highlanders first five-eighth Robbie Robinson will face an internal disciplinary enquiry after he was arrested in Dunedin after his team's clash with the Crusaders.

21-year-old Robinson was pepper-sprayed by police, arrested and held in a police cell after the incident which occurred early on Sunday morning.

Robinson was later released and was not charged by Police.

Highlanders general manager Roger Clark said that Robinson was walking home when he got into a scuffle with another man.

"We set high standards right across the organisation and this sort of behaviour is not acceptable," Clark said.

"These kids are in a privileged position and have to act responsibly no matter what happens," he told the Otago Daily Times.

Clark added that the Highlanders were disappointed with the incident and said that action would be taken.

Robinson came off the bench and replace Tony Brown in the Highlanders 13-44 loss to the Crusaders at Carisbrook.

Robinson got on to the score sheet when he converted Adam Thomson's try.

Damn, beat me to it. I was about to say how yet another incident like this in rugby is clearly a problem with the NRL, not something that happens wherever you have cashed up meatheads with too much testosterone.
