A sales bloke from JB-HIFI has told me that you can't due to Digital Rights Management aka DRM and that you must get a separate PVR called Topfield at around $550 which ignores DRM then from there you can copy to a bluray recorder. Seems like a very expensive way to get rugby games onto bluray disks so does anyone know if this is true? Thanks in advance.

Pretty much true. I have an old DVD/HDD unit and even it will not let me record from the Movie Channels. I can still record all other channels ATM. Get rid of the IQ and just use a cheaper Digital PVR with a removable drive so you can just buy 1TB drives to fill up with Rugby.
