I like the way Joubert started. I don't like the way he ruined the game by sending Mitchell for one offence nobody saw, and another trivial one. Fair enough we were on a warning, and Mitchell was unlucky to have already had a card, but he had discretion to give further warnings... just like he did when the ABs kept infringing in the red zone. Not saying we also didn't infringe or could have won, just that he showed poor judgement.
I don't think he was good. Don't think he really favoured any side (though the ABs probably got the rub of the green), but just made a lot of bad calls.
And on Mitchell- yeah he warned Rocky about it and yeah I think batting the ball down like that is a blight on the game. But the ABs weren't really going to take a quick throw anyway, and it was a game-ender for the wallabies if he sends Mitchell.
I can see why he did it, but I think the right call would have been to say to him 'you are very fucking close to an early shower, another peep from you and you're gone'.
