I will pillory him from here to eternity for being ridiculous, and throw in his numpty friend Kaplan, but we were not hard done by, except for our useless pack of hoaxes in yellow. Well done ABs. Far too good.

Yep - we copped a few rough decisions, but Joubert was tougher on the Blacks in the ruck. Until the last 20-30 when they started to creep offside again.

I like the way Joubert started. I don't like the way he ruined the game by sending Mitchell for one offence nobody saw, and another trivial one. Fair enough we were on a warning, and Mitchell was unlucky to have already had a card, but he had discretion to give further warnings... just like he did when the ABs kept infringing in the red zone. Not saying we also didn't infringe or could have won, just that he showed poor judgement.

I don't think any of us can comment on the triviality of the first Mitchell offense until we see it.


PS He never warned the Blacks in the red zone (althoug he should have - that was his error)

I don't think he was good. Don't think he really favoured any side (though the ABs probably got the rub of the green), but just made a lot of bad calls.

And on Mitchell- yeah he warned Rocky about it and yeah I think batting the ball down like that is a blight on the game. But the ABs weren't really going to take a quick throw anyway, and it was a game-ender for the wallabies if he sends Mitchell.

I can see why he did it, but I think the right call would have been to say to him 'you are very fucking close to an early shower, another peep from you and you're gone'.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious McCaw gave the team a good spray about it.

Did check the match again from the kick off too the first yellow for mitchell. There was one tackle he was involved in which he bounced off of and other than that he didn't do anything i followed him throughout the play and he literally didn't do anything.
