I think he would be great to have. AFAIK he is uncapped so could come in as a development player. With the Lions on the brink of being relegated, there is no better time.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Elton Jantjies will stay in Perth.

They'd be better off making a move for someone like Sias Ebersohn. I can't see Jantjies leaving South Africa at this stage in his career. He's played for the Springboks (against the Barbarians so not a test match) at the age of 20, so I can't see him leaving without having a full crack at becoming a test player.

Ebersohn has had a terrible season, but he seems to be a confidence player. His confidence this year has been destroyed by the emergence of Johan Goosen and only having limited game time because of it.

Out of interest, anyone know whether an appearance against the Barbarians would rule a player out of playing for another nation?

Honey Badgers 50th Super Rugby cap should inspire the team to victory. Looked back at he highlights of the Reds v Lions games and......I think we can do it......I think we can do it......I think we can do it.......I think we can do it..........Sweet, I've convinced myself :)

now....I deserve that pay rise.......I deserve that pay rise.....

That's a no on rule outs from Barbarians matches. A player is only 'locked in' to a country if they play the national representative side or the second national rep side (e.g. Ireland, Junior All Blacks, etc). As the Barbarians aren't a national rep side they don't count.

Force team to play the Lions. Good to see Tupou and Mafi rewarded for good games and the Badger back playing on the wing. Team has some good size. Mafi to bring some attacking flair from fullback. I'm feeling really confident about this game for some reason. I'd like to see Salesi Manu come on early and get more playing time. He's a big unit and he likes to hit things.

Where's Wara? Is he injured? I hope he wasn't dropped from the 22.

I'm just not convinced Rory Sidey will ever be anything special.

Haven't seen any injury info so I think he may have been dropped for a couple of defensive lapses against the Rebels. Charger I agree about Sidey he hasn't really impressed me this year. He split time with Mitch Inman last year.....wish we still had Inman. Why not give Tyrone Lefau a crack for the last couple of games and see what he can do. He can slot in on the wing or in the centres and could switch with Cummins.

Those are my two questions: why is Wara not in the side - he's been playing pretty well. If we're punishing for defensive lapses, then explain Harvey being on the bench instead of Wara (I know, goalkicking and can cover 10/15... but still)!

And I'm not a fan of the Sidey selection either. I guess they want some beef in their against the saffers and there aren't many other options, but it's not like he's getting across the gainline regularly, or being a rock in defense, or passing to put away some of his finishers. So, where's the up-side?

Plenty of excitement in Perth for the "Who gives a rats arse cup".

Shaun Maloney calling is nice for a change, unfortunatley he has hydraulic Horan next to him.

LMFAO - Brendon Canon on Ma'afu "He's a chance for the Australian squad tomorrow as we don't have many large men at 3 in Australia and Salesi Ma'afu has certainly grown in stature in the last two years." :)

Force are in real danger of losing to the bottom of the ladder Lions unless they step it up.
