Still can’t cop these ‘so called‘ tries with zero control of the ball. No try in my book every day of the week. Law needs to be changed to having control and downward pressure.

Because that would be easier to adjudicate on super-slow mo? I doubt it.

So you're saying it was a try you just wish the laws of the game were different such that it wasn't a try?

Maybe we could introduce Gus Goulds rules on a try, it doesnt need to be grounded, so long as the arm touches the ground and its yours (haha) its a try!!!

Here is clip from Wayne Barnes about six years back demonstrating what consitututes grounding:

Intepretatation may have changed slightly since then, but something like this clip adds good value to our understanding of different peoples intepretations and we could do with more of this.

That's basically what the law is now. The interpretation is just that if you keep a hand/finger on the ball then you haven't yet lost possession.

The argument here would be that the winger was in control - he was trying to press down on the ball to score a try, and that's what he did

21.1 The ball can be grounded in in-goal:

a. By holding it and touching the ground with it; or
b. By pressing down on it with a hand or hands, arm or arms, or the front of the player’s body from waist to neck.

Definition Knock forward When a player loses possession of the ball and it goes forward..........and the ball touches the ground or another player before the original player can catch it.

Definition Possession An individual.......in control of the ball or who are attempting to bring it under control.

He had no control at all. Having a finger slightly touching the ball is hardly 'Control'. You should have to have a least a full hand on the ball forcing it down. Anyway, I'll accept the ridiculous.
