Brave effort by the boys tonight, in front of a great crowd too. We just lacked some attacking polish to create enough opportunities to properly put the Chiefs under pressure. We scrapped hard though.

Well i was bloody proud of their efforts tonight.

Crowd was good. Surprisingly from past experiences i thought we would of been over run by black and cow bells but good work by the sea of blue tonight.
Only way to get more and more fans is to not accept brave losses but wins only. Defensively force were good but attack still much to be improved and we all know that has been their Achilles heal in the past. I want the force to be successful and patting them on the back for a close loss won't help them with that. They need to win games and win games at home especially and their win loss record shows they still have some way to go. Don't demand anything but a win from your team.

Despite the 'canes result the Brumbies have 2 losing bonus points against the 'saders and Highlanders.
I agree brumbies been best against kiwi sides. In fairness the chiefs were also off their game so would be dangerous to get too worked up to say force are best against kiwi sides. Force are improving but have some way to go.

Chiefs may of been of game a bit, but I tend to think Force were one of the reasons.
I was pleased to hear Cruden at end of game not making excuses for struggling, but instead giving credit to Force for making it hard. He also made mention of the crowd which was good in present situation.

really enjoyable combative game, lots of passion and looke dlike a full house.
how does the forces crowd of 14 k compare with other recent home ground figures? it looks much better filling a small stadium than it does having 10-15 k at eden park or sydneys footy stadium.

I'd be surprised if there was 11K at the SFS on Friday night, many empty seats. NIB felt much fuller.

That was our first home game this year played on a Saturday evening when we get our best crowds. Previous 2 home games were on a Thurday night and a Sunday arvo.

Thanks Dan. That's exactly what I think. Esp. re: Cruden.

Lets not forget that was almost a full strength Chiefs team vs a Force team with our 5th and 6th choice locks, no captain, 3rd choice scrum half and our Wallaby fullback out after 20 minutes.

For those who spruik the idea that the Force benefit from playing the NZ sides on their way back from RSA- consider the extra distance we have to travel for Aus conference games. Mind you that pales in comparison to the Japanese and the Argies these days.

Rugbynutter- I'd love wins but I would happily take competitiveness. That is worth a lot in the current climate.
