I wrote a while ago that I would post a typical week's rugby programme on EuroSport which, hopefully, will be coming soon to a TV service near you. From last Monday to yesterday, I watched, live or replay:

1. Bath v Stade Francais (replay, after being shown live)
2. Munster v Treviso (reply, after being shown live)
3. Toulousse v Biarritz (live)

4. London Irish v Leicester
5. Gloucester v Wasps
6. Stade Francais v Perpignan

The last three games were in succession on Saturday night and as live as could be - one of the English games was delayed by two hours, as the two started at the same time.

There was more but sleep and work diverted me.

There are three games in succession today, starting at 1.30 pm. I don't yet know what they are.

It depends on what package you have. I have IQ and all channels (except HD) and it's going up $4 a month. I think if you have bought the sports on a lesser package it should be a free add-on.

Foxtel sent me an email last week telling me what's up. I think the reason prices have gone up is because of the download service they're launching.

Thanks for posting that Biffo - but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating of it.

By way of explanation: ESPN has a more than one channel world wide but in Australia, through Foxtel, we get to watch just one channel and it is probably a smorgasbord of what they offer in all countries. Thus we couldn't get a take on what rugby games we are likely to see on Eurosport through Foxtel in Oz, by looking at what Eurosport broadcasts in other countries.

I get Foxsports through Optus which I have to subscribe to because they didn't put a Foxtel cable down in my street (and I tried their satellite dish and it didn't work a lot of the time). What I've noticed in my November programme guide is that there is no detailed guide for Eurosport (Channel 511) starting Nov.15th but the blurb mentions: motor racing, Eurocup basketball and FIS ski racing - all of which can be seen on existing channels.

Watch this space.

What I am more concerned about is that there seems to be no coverage of Wallabies EOYT matches by Foxtel in November.

Can that be right??

Greg Clarke announced that it'll be shown on Fox during the John Eales medal..

This is from the eurosports part of the foxtel site http://www.foxtel.com.au/whats-on/channels/eurosport/default.htm

Eurosport provides a diverse variety of sports, delivering world class events all year' round, such as
the Tennis WTA Tour and Sony Ericsson Championships, ATP Tour Events, Basketball Eurocup, Cycling Tour of Spain and Italy, Rugby French Top 14, FIA World Touring Car Championships, Le Mans 24 Hours, Athletics IAAF Super Grand Prix and much more. Eurosport also presents a diverse range of Olympic summer and winter sports, as well as the new generation extreme sports. With a unique mix of sports, Eurosport focuses on LIVE coverage and presents sports events at the highest level of competition.

And I checked the guide and they have a currie cup game on the same time as the game against the poms. I'm sure it will change soon enough. Either that or there's another fox sports channel coming.

Good luck. I hope the coverage you get is as good as, or better than, what I get here.

Watching the EuroSport space that I get, I conclude that there are quite a few blokes in the T14 with the right passports who can play more than a bit. I notice that the Frogs are in from 25/1 to 10/1 for RWC 2011 with the bookies over the last few months. They may be near the mark.

What blows is that I don't get any of the new channels, plus I lose the +2 channels, because I live in an apartment which isn't "IQ ready" (ie the body corporate has not run a second Foxtel cable around the building at their own expense).

And just to make it all better, Foxtel are upping the price at the same time as reducing my service.

Fuckers.

I got my foxtel book for next month this afternoon and i can't see any of the games in the program. The only time i could see it on was one hd. Foxsports 1 on the 7th at 10:30pm has golf booked in, i hope they're not changing it up for each state.

The eurosport channel has a lot of strongman competitions and weightlifting. The weekends look like they'll get two or three top 14 games and that's about it.

Is that Eurosport Pacific channel?

I will get Bledisloe 4 on the Australia Network. That plus 2-3 Top 14 games will make a nice weekend's rugby. Although I shall be surprised if Eurosport (Pac) doesn't have at least one Premier League game from England.

It must be a different to Eurosports Pacific because i had a look again this morning and saw no premier league (I may have missed them though), a lot of motor sports and a few games of American Football which makes no sense.

The London Irish v Leicester game that Biffo mentioned above that was shown on Eurosport Pacific was shown in Australia (good viewing it was as well) on Setanta who currently has the TV rights to the Guinness Premiership (and Magners) down here at the moment. That could well affect what is shown on Eurosport in Aus.

I will this weekend report excatly what rugby is on Eurosport Pac and when it is on. You may then compare that with the programmes you are consulting.

I am still presuming that what you will get from November 15 will be the same as I get. I can't see why it would differ.

Broadcast rights are a very strange beast and can be fiercely protected. Given the perilous state of Setanta, I would imagine they would be keen to look after (or sell) their assets.

The weekend live action on Eurosport Pac was:

Friday: Castres and Perpignan
Saturday: Leicester and Northampton
Sunday: Wasps and Leeds.

There were several replays on Saturday and Sunday but I was distracted by work and didn't watch any.
