I know the spelling is wrong but it fits the ad campaign at the moment.

I can't farken work it out.

And shees now we have the Blues, Brumbies, Cru and then Canes. We are going to be slaughtered.

Mass changes afoot. I don't know who the can bring in but the likes of Quade, MMM and even Kev should be worried.

I guess Braid will be out. Perhap young Andrew Shaw will get a go? Tasi Luafatu should come back. Anthony Fainga'a and Charlie Fetoai in the centres I think. Houston - gone. Surely. Higgers too. Time for Hanson as well.

Ahhh damn. I can't sleep.

And they have played their way out of test jumpers. Only Ione deserves one. Hynes possibly but the Tah guys and Cummins from the 4s are just as likely.

Oh how the chickens are coming home to roost.
Qld rugby has been on this spiral not for weeks or months but years yet the same basic mistakes are made - yet the same trend in selections are made - yet the same player drain occurs and the same results will continue.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
The only way IMO for Qld Reds to survive is to be cut loose from the Qld Rugby Union and transformed into a privately run franchise, free from interferance.

INteresting you mention that rw because that is what a lot of Tahs fans think about our side too. The old boys shit works for club rugby but not at a pro level.

Ok an option:

15 Toua
14 Ione
13 Fetoai
12 Fainga'a
11 Morohan
10 Barnes
9 Genia
8 Taylor
7 Shaw
6 Luafutu
5 Humphries
4 Horwill
3 Weekes
2 Hardman
1 Daley

16 Hanson
17 Holmes
18 MMM
19 Schatz
20 Lucas
21 Cooper
22 McLindon

Throwing rookies like Toua, Morahan and Schatz in there won't save things. It might show the older guys that there are other options though. And with Braid going we need to see what Shaw has got.

While we are on that track which is what Qld has been doing now for years, why don't we just have a day this week where Nudgee, TSS and State High and maybe Churchie have round robin and we pick a team from that.
1: They will probably be better
2: Still get slaughtered by the Blues
3: We are seen to be blooding new talent (literally)
4: The clubs get to use their players for once

Noddy, Hynes has been good and is worth keeping. Maybe try Ioane at 12 in the Nonu mold, with Barnes at 10.

If there has been an avoidable coaching error this season, it has been the failure to develop a backup 7 (and to get the forwards interested in rucking and counter rucking, but thats another story). I don't really see an option other than Shaw or Schatz there myself.

I'd keep Holmes at 1.

Amazingly, Houston appears to have gotten worse and less fit as the season has gone on. He's damn lucky he signed his two year contract a few weeks back. I wonder if the two are related?

I think Hynes is injured again. Lucas/Barnes at 10/12 too small?

yeah, counting on Hynes being injured unfortunately, otherwise I would've considered him for 15.

Ione just looks buggered playing centres. he's the one doing the most running and heaps of defence. At the end of the game when we need his abilities, he was just to tired. So I have relented to picking just a solid, Waratah style centre combo, just to truck it up and kick a bit with some enterprise on the wings. Barne's has the passing game to use them when he needs to.

My thoughts exactly. How do you put on weight mid-season?

That's either a lotta KFC or a very poor conditioning programme (or maybe both....)

I reckon his form slide (avalanche) corresponds with his re-signing. As soon as he signed he started to play poorly.

If he doesn't learn how to catch or hold onto the ball it isn't going to matter how fit he is. F*cking frustrating.

The Reds better get the arse into gear soon as I am coming up to watch the Brumbies V Reds game (it seemed like a good idea at the time).

I still think the Reds are just not fit enough across the team to play the way the coach wants.

Houston's growth is just an example, as is the gut on Holmes.

To play an up tempo game and finish off the games the way Mooney wants they should have been much much fitter at the start of the comp. The rest is attitude - getting off the ground and getting back into position etc.

So to me Mooney and his fitness coach are in the end to blame

If you want to talk fitness, that is a whole new ball game.
As a trainer myself (in addition to a multitude of other things) it is my humble opinion the REDS are actually overtrained.
For those wishing more specifics please feel free to PM me, but at the end of the day many of the players to whom I speak are actually fatigued before they get to the game.
I can write a whole new paper on this little puppy alone.

was MMM poor again? If yes then that's Mooney's fault has he has played 7 games this season which is amazing in the 1st place as we are talking about MMM.

4 in the tight & he has been in the top 3 players on the ground that day in each game.

3 as a loosie, 2 that I have seen & they were horrible & it now seems like 3 from 3 shockers in the loose.
