My Mungo brother has been watching the toyota cup, and as much as I hate to copy ideas from league, I think an U/20 competition would be a fantastic initiative for Super Rugby. For example it gives a more accurate representation of where a team is headed in 4/5 years time. On the flipside, it will take a hell of a lot of talent from the club footy system.

It's a nice idea. Surely you wouldn't include a Melb Rebels u/20 side. Maybe there could be an u/20 National club comp as well.

Well, considering that the U20 model has been adopted by the IRB for their Junior World structures it would probably be a decent idea. Here's another thought. Would it be possible to establish some sort of Varsity Cup set up along the lines of the South African model?

Not really. It still leaves a gap between under 20 and Super 14. I think second string comps are better for all round squad development. Many in league have the same concern with their u20 comp.

Even if we kept it to home games as curtain raiser games to the Super 15 local derbies. Still need a tier between Prem Grade and Super Rugby but this would be great for the development of rugby in Australia. The more rugby, the better.

I agree, from a Super15 clubs perspective, why would you invest in the U20 rather then just a 2nd XV??
There is more benefit for a club to have a 2nd XV and give exposure to all there players.

I do support the concept of a U20 Tri-Nations series though..
