David Pocock - the new "Nobody"

For anyone who hasn't seen it, there is a fantastic article on David Pocock in the latest Inside Sport mag.

The kid is amazing. Reading a bit more about his upbringing is really quite humbling.

And the work he is doing now with his own organisation (80/20 Vision) to do his bit for rebuilding communities in Zimbabwe is incredibly forward thinking and empowering.

Add to this his obvious on-field abilities and this guy is clearly such a well rounded individual. Eales-like dare I say?

Another interesting snippet, although it pales into insignificance in comparison to the above issues, is that he got a sports scholarship subsidy at Churchie. Not for rugby, but for water polo!

Wasn't Tai McIsaac also a water polo player?

Yep just missed out on the Olympic team of 96 I think. Both Dave and Tai played Water Polo for the Tugan club, as did another couple of Wallabies Chris Handy and Tony Shaw.

Haven't read the article but I have heard about his off-field activity and his upbringing before.

He would empty the pool with a bomb, then run around tackling everyone! ;D
