I think it is Skelton coming in for Quinn. I'm not exactly sure how an injury replacement during the tournament works now (is it if someone is ruled out with concussion?!?) but Hood played in some of the games in Dubai. Myers is still listed in the team so not entirely sure whether it is Quinn or Myers out.

Interesting that Stannard has only 10 more caps than Holland.
I would have thought he was 50 in front.
Nothing distorts history more than a faulty memory...........

Did I hear Clarke say that Ed Jenkins has been sent home for an MRI and at this stage may be fighting to be fit for the Comm Games? That would be a big loss...

Reasonable start by the Aussies, Longbottom seems be be overplaying his hand less.

Frustrating!

Just one criticism, what's the point of having both Longbottom & Stannard on the field?

As soon as the Yanks beat the Darkness, we were gone, it meant we had to beat both of them.


We should have a better chance in the next round. Our reward for finishing fifth last round was the kiss of death.

No it didn't.
It meant we either had to beat NZ, or beat the yanks and have a good enough differential to go thru.

The yanks were legless last week and are still without their best player this week.
I'd be looking beyond the draw when doing the analysis of what went wrong this week.

In practical terms, it did. The Yanks were good enough to thrash the Darkness. Ergo I am right. I have little doubt that this is what the squad was thinking, maybe they were beaten before they played.

That was a disappointing performance by the Aussies.

We missed Jenkins badly and are also missing Jesse Parahi for some more size.

Sam Myers didn't have a strong tournament and that left Boyd Killingworth as our only player with some size who actually did much.

Our smaller players fell off too many tackles at key times.
