So not that many here give a toss about this game but I take any chance to write something about my beloved Bulls
The Bulls looked terrible in the first half against the Lions last week (who incidentally discovered how to defend for 40 minutes - the only 40 minutes this season). They got a serve from the coach and came back like men posessed in the second half.
Two positives for the Bulls:
Bakkies Botha is back (calm down Moses, calm down. I know how you love him). It's tough on Danie Rossouw who has had great form but not a bad thing as he needs rest. He bitch slapped the Lions tight five last week. Bad luck for Flip van der Merwe who is the most exciting young lock I have seen in ages and will follow his dad into Green and Gold - only time (btw his dad was a prop and tipped the scales at 140+ kgs).
JL Potgieter will start at 12 for the first time. He played well when he came on last week as replacement and I think he and Olivier could actually develop into something great for the Bulls. He is strong and can play the crash ball type game but has deft passing and a great boot - he is really a 10. I have been hoping for this combo since the start of the season.
The Sharks have been reasonably good for five in a row but I think the Bulls will pick their one dimensional game plan apart. The Guppies will run the big munters at the 10/12 channel all night but if that doesn't work I can't see what else they can do. The have lost JP Pietersen which doesn't help. They also have the most unimaginative 12/13 combo in the competition, and their combover at 10 can kick, and uhm kick some more, and not much else.
Make no mistake, this is going to be a shitfest and one which I think the Bulls will win but by less than 7.
