The current Board of RA - Cameron Clyne, Chairman. Dr Brett Robinson, Deputy Chairman. Raelene Castle, Chief Executive. Pip Marlow, Director. Paul McLean MBE, Director. Hayden Rorke, Director. Ann Sherry, Director. Philip Waugh, Director. John Wilson, Director. Tony Shaw, President.

Formerflanker's ticket for the Board after the coming Rugby Revolution:
Sir Peter Cosgrove, Chairman; responsible for strategic planning.
Tony Abbott, Chief Executive and strategic plan implementation specialist.
Alan Jones, Director and media advisor.
Simon Poidevin, Director responsible for developing grassroots rugby.
Nick Farr-Jones, Director responsible for elite rugby.
David Campese, Director responsible for creative thinking.

A winning combination!

Jesus Christ, I hope you're kidding.

Kearns as CEO is a truly frightening prospect, as is Kafer. The only way out is for RA is to be put into administration and the ‘good rugby man’ network that has lead us here to be totally jettisoned.
Well we got a Non Rugby Woman as a cleanskin. That's not exactly working either.

Surely 800k should buy more than we are getting

I’ve always had a problem with that woman being CEO.

I’m pretty sure once we get into the details of who did what when,it won’t enhance her reputation.

Having said that, I’m still cheering for her to succeed.
Nothing good comes from her failing.

So who in your opinion should be CEO, and I mean of the ones that applied for the position.

Badger, do you have an issue with a woman being CEO?
People quickly forget the ship was sinking well before she got in charge, infact I don’t think we can say we are in a worse position than prior to her appointment. It might be fair to say she hasn’t done a better job than the previous couple of leaders, but she surely hasn’t done a worse job. Infact it surely shouldn’t be a coincidence that the last couple of leaders have struggled, so that probably indicates it might be the hand they are given within the framework they have to work with that is the issue.

For those expecting her to suddenly change everything don’t understand the role of a CEO. They aren’t dictators that have the ability to change things in their vision, they have to report to a board, her job is to influence them and provide direction within her control. But it’s hard to play politics with people with agendas and get them to see beyond their cause for the greater good.

At the moment people are expecting her to make an authentic Italian meal out of canned spaghetti

I don’t know who made it on the list.
Her previous role, with much less responsibility proved too much for her.

Clearly, she can’t be held responsible for a poorer TV deal, etc etc.

But she can be held to account for poor practices.

The unconfirmed reports that she was asking Izzy to agree to adding conditions to his contract, some time after the contracts had been executed are worrying, credible and not unexpected.

I'd be asking Freehills why this clause wasn't included in the contract. In all honesty, if Raelene was approaching Folau about such a clause post signing, I'd daresay, someone stuffed up below her and she was brought in the clean up the mess.

It’s up to her to instruct Freehills or whoever that she needs additional clauses in the contract.
IF she was approaching him post contract, then it’s gross mismanagement.
delegating it is no excuse, managing people is supposed to be a core competency.

This makes the assumption that RA's Chief Executive didn't read, check, approve and give final sign-off to a contract with arguably the code's best player, face of Australian rugby, and most high profile player.
Oh and the $4mill value of the contract.

And remembering the recent controversy that she thought important enough to have discussions with him about expectations etc.

Are we getting a little ahead of ourselves based on speculation?
Do you have a source or link to the claims your making, I'm not well versed on the subject

I was responding to a post claiming any missing clauses were the fault of the lawyers, or an underling.

My position is just about, whatever happened, it’s her fault there is no clarity in the matter.

She met with him after the first controversy, had a press conference saying they had shared their views, and would continue the dialogue. He claims in his recent letter to the board that there clearly was never any agreed standards agreed between them.

She clearly never wrote to him explicitly explaining standards and expectations, that gross incompetence.

Too hard to dig out relevant extracts from the above, but apparently Castle is fine because the demise preceded her.

Really?

If Fox are cutting back around this pro sport the next set of problems seem completely on the cards. No longer inevitable but now actually happening.

This management is however swaddled in white?

Dangerous times. Seemingly clueless leadership.

I hear that such was her success in Rugby League, she is under consideration for the recently vacated Manly CEO role, would link up with Des Hasler again.

You look at that Board, with names like Robinson, McLean, Waugh and Shaw and you think really good solid rugby people. I know of Pip Marlow from my professional life and she's been successful, but couldn't tell you much about the others, apart from that muppet Clyne. How on Earth did we get to our parlous state with such upstanding people like Tony Shaw and Paul McLean in the mix?
