LG,

Do you remember the pre-season tournament played at Coolum where they transformed the driving range into a Rugby field? Back in the late 90's IIRR
The Tah's, Reds, Blues and Crusaders used to play a 4 way trial tournament that had a couple of games played a Coolum and shown on Foxtel in the mid to late 90's from memory.

I think the ARU or state squads probably don't want full broadcasts.
After all, the games are 'trials' and players are continually changing over. Not only that, but play is very scrappy and i notice in the Brumbies v Force trial that the Force omitted 7 of their front line players from the game.
In other words these are not showcase games & could well scare the sporting public away.

Good point. Never thought of it that way. I am just getting Rugby withdrawal. Twitch, twitch,

Certainly happened. Think it was 1998 and maybe even 97, and was called the Southern Cross Pre-Season Tournament.

There's a plus side to it. I always forget the endings to the Poirot TV shows so long as I haven't seen them for a year or two; so I can watch them again.

With the Australian population getting older, it won't be long before the ABC will be able to put on a weekly repeat of the same show.
