Bruce Ross I think i quizzed you before on this but you advocate heavy weights during the season?
If so how doe you manage recovery in time for game and how does travel it impact?

My view on this is heavily influenced by what I observe at Sydney Uni, IS. Here both Colts and Grade players train heavy right throughout the season including in the week prior to the Grand Final. There are other instances, but I recall Daniel Halangahu doing a PB squat one season in the week of the Grand Final and Jerry Yanuyanutawa doing a 300kg box squat within 2 weeks of the end of season.

Obviously at the Super level you would have to vary training to accommodate long distance travel but I believe that the commitment to heavy training should remain.

Inside Shoulder I think you blokes are experts in weight training

I don't think that focussing on "beach weights", curls, etc., has much applicability to Rugby, Rassie.

Bob Dwyer has today posted an article on this very website calling for a switch of the halves despite the fact that the forwards aren't any good, so whilst one (or many) may have an entirely different view, it's not really unreasonable to suggest that one may feel comfortable swapping backline players at this point.
Just so I understand your priorities.
We lost the lineout
We lost the scrum
We lost the rucks and mauls
we lost the battle for physical dominance
and you top priority is changing the halves?

It's not the priority, but they were poor and need to be changed..........

Genia is out of form and needs a rest........

Cooper has not shown that he's our best 10.........

1 - 10 overhaul.........

Get Jake White to sort out Wallaby rugby. He'll pick the players with the best attetude. Massive mistake from ARU.

So where advocating as the smartest thing to do wholesale changes across the park. The forwards, halves and centres were poor. change them all.

White was interviewed. they just didn't bother letting you know.

Seriously guys get over your obsession with backs and we might start winning more rugby.

I don't think anybody is showing an obsession with backs?

Everyone acknowledges that there is problems with our pack, but that doesn't take away from the poor performances from Genia and Cooper..........

Wholesale changes won't fix everything, but there do need to be some changes.......

Different tune to a few months ago,how is it RD's fault when he was in charge, and now it's all the players fault and the coach has no viable alternatives?
How about you try reading as well as watching? The halves are no where near the first thing we should be looking at but everytime I look at this thread there's another one of you going on about it. There are at least 5 things more important for the wallabies to fix before you get to talking about anyone who number is bigger than their IQ

Genia has possibly been our worst player this series (as surprising, and difficult as that is to say)........

And Cooper was a backward step from To'omua........

While our pack is our biggest concern, it doesn't mean we should ignore the obvious problems in our backline........

Let's agree to disagree.

As much as our forwards got smashed. I thought Genia and Cooper were two of the most ineffective players on the park.

Our forwards were roundly smashed but the only times our backline looked threatening were in broken play, generally when Genia and Cooper's involvement was minimal.

Any first phase ball, particularly decent ball off the lineout, we looked average. Genia passing to a stationery Cooper needs to stop.

Cooper's selection and performance in this match is always going to be questioned because he was brought in for a player that was fairly good in the previous test. Link took a punt going with the experienced player he knew better and it backfired.

I like to watch

Read my post, and what it was responding to.
But since you brought it up, you say the halves were shit, but you are aggressive at any suggestion the halves should go.
Bearing in mind, they have not been in stellar form prior to this.
This game was not an anomaly, it was confirmation that their form is not up to the required standard ATM.
