Agreed Gaffa. Rennie is making good on his promise of brutality and there is plenty of it in this Wallaby side. I really, really hope it works because it's the template I'd like to see moving forward.

I hope we see controlled aggression and no cards.

edit: debutant 13 & 14 evens up our injured 13 & 14 nicely.
This team announcement predicts the England pattern of play:

6:2 screams out that they want a maximum effort in the forwards, backs for defense and chasing only.
Guy Porter the better defender. Owen Farrell a strong defender at 12 though often illegally. I thought Eddie would put Farrell at 10 for this must-win game but he didn't trust anyone else in the squad to be at 12. I don't think we will see much of the second man, out the back plays this week.
Hill there to try and generate more red/yellow cards rather than for his locking skills.
Fits Eddie's post game comments that they needed to be more direct, using pick and goes etc.

Will it work though, Hawko. I'm reasonably confident in this 23 to meet it. Biggest issue is to tighten up through the middle. Bell, Porecki, Tupou, Phillip, Neville.

As long as they are on point, so far so good.

Interesting analysis on Neville from Nick Bishop @ Roar:

edit: he also goes on to laud Philip alot actually. Here's the article with the accompanying videos:
Nick Bishop is very good…

With the 6:2 from England I’m expecting the forwards to try to win the breakdown to allow Marcus to snipe around the side Noah is gonna have to be on his A game

England 9,10,12 are all from different premiership clubs so hopefully they implode a little bit 9 and 13 are both tigers so Hunter defender will be important

Hunter at 13 worries me as his successful tackle rate is poor at 66%

Kellaway is a loss as he just sees the game so we’ll and can finish well but Tom Wright is very talented just hope there are no brain fart moments

overall very excited for the weekend

Maybe Hill decides to target someone else's hair?

I'd love to see the whole team march out with crew cuts just to spite him :D

Eddie maybe a great coach, but his sectorial skills leave a lot to be desired. His only consistency is his inconsistency. How on earth do you ever bed in new attacking strategy and tactics, from yet another new attacking coach, when you change the side all the time? Same for defence. JVP at 9 has great potential, but to start at Brisbane is asking a lot. He did not even make the bench for Leicester in the premiership final. I can see the Green & Gold pulling away to a comfortable win.

I suspect Wrights inclusion is more about him being a known quantity defensively and under the high ball, which is probably fair enough
Never been a big wright fan but he's had a cracking season. No problem with the selection. I assume the plan is hopefully close out the series and then give vunilvula a run

If they're all skinheads, the moron is going to figure out how to bother them. Maybe slapping in their clean heads. So the problem is Hill, not everyone around him. I think Adam Coleman would be the perfect guy to educate him lol but Philip is a tough guy too
