Since Robbie Deans took over, he has somehow deflected positional roles into team roles. After the first Wallaby Tri-Nations game, he started highlighting the importance of the 10-12 combo and playing people out of positions in the name of a young team and kept Mortlock around just for the sake of a familiar face.
The All Blacks chose a team combo highlighting Donald/McAlister at 10 and Carter at 12. And now look at what most Wallaby fans are doing? Most of us are building the team around the 10-12 combo. Yet the real magicians, the All Blacks are the ones really benefiting here. That 10-12 combo has generated so much attention that we all forgot that the 12-13 combo is another major combo. We all felt secure having Mortlock at 13 since he's been there forever but look at our progress. The All Blacks had the last laugh seeing Barnes get the RUPA Award. What will happen when the RWC2011 gets here?
Wingers need the ball as much as anybody else in this team. So much that Drew Mitchell is going into rucks to fish for the ball himself and driving a maul. The AB have been quietly excelling with their 12-13 combo with Nonu and Smith at the Hurricanes. They have absolute trust in ten, be it Carter, McAlister or Donald. Nonu can't kick for shit to save his life but he is the AB first choice 12. The Blues have a great combo with Ranger and Toeava. The Chiefs have Kahui in back up training center and Donald in back up 10. The Crusaders are busy rehabilitating Carter and developing him.
What are we the Wallabies busy doing? Trying to fill our wish list for the Rebels and switching tens to twelves and vice versa all over the Super 14.
1. The Brumbies are busy trying to find Giteau a spot and make everyone else feel second fiddle. Great Stability by the way.George Smith is leaving I guess, so is Mortlock. Gerrard is returning meaning AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is getting moved again. Probably to 13 while Tyrone Smith continues to decay on the bench. To'omua and Lealifaano might as well leave. I'm glad we got Elsom but Captain save a Hoe might be leaving for the Rebels. Great void you will be leaving behind. I hope Moore stays coz he reminds me of Jeremy Paul. Great support and forward play. Getting poached from the Brumbies looks good on your resume, so I think we will lose all the players we got this year. How so? They all signed one year contracts. To'omua is great but the backs normally have to slow down to catch the pace. Timing is poor and his spin is a struggle. Watch it next time. Larkham's spin wasn't excellent but his timing was. Way to fucking go by swithing Ben Alexander to tight head. Why is Mortlock still kicking? Francis Fainifo should be the next 11 or 14. Ngwenya smoked Habana and the world all over sudden knew who Ngwenya was. Fainifo almost caught Habana last year. Almost! Gerrard might be returning to Brumbies just to leave 4 Rebels. Pretty sure Gregan and Larkham are lingering on the sidelines............somewhere,Dicks out in hand heading back home. We are rich Bitch! Got all the Toulon and Japanese cash!
2. The Reds are developing well after Barnes left. Good for them. They are definitely developing the Quade-Genia combo but once again, who is to say Cooper is the first Choice ten unless we are speaking of S14 Team of the so called last week. But...........why move Horwill to flanker and Hynes to fullback. This is the bullshit I am lamenting about. Does hanyone have RWC 2011 in mind at all.
3. Barne's Waratahs. Why was he brought in here? To fuck the Halangahu, Tom Carter, Beale Combo. Burgess has been long overshadowed by Genia but he's got 3 fly-halves to get it right. All different one's from the ones he eventually ends up playing with. No wonder he can't throw the ball right. Polota nau is great but his line out throwing ability is 50-50. Do the Wallabies a favor and move him to prop. That way, if he sucks in throws, we will only use him for forward play and tackling. Forget Al-Baxter and the drop goal kicking fool Matt Dunning. Just like that one dick defined Lewinsky's life, that drop goal will haunt Dunning. Thanks for assigning an All Black a 15 Jersey. He goes back home and he knows well how Barnes, Mitchell and the rest of the Waratah wallabies play.
4. The Force just has too many injuries. They may not give us much. Forget Ryan Cross. He awaits the ball from a silver platter. Doesn't get into rucks. Can't attack without the ball Jackass. And if you have the ball in posession, why worry about cover tackling. U have the freaking ball. O' Connor is the next AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). 100% sure he will make the RWC 2011 match day 22 as Deans excuse and flag bearer as a young team. Where does he play. I have seen this fool at 10,12,13 and 15. He's the best goal kicker we got.
5. The Rebels. What a name. And what can I say. We have plenty fly-half options and you sign Cipriani as the first motherfucker? The first person should have been an Aussie. This is our team;our country. I am from Kenya-Africa and I was offended. WTF?
The coach and selectors should have a common goal but different opinions and Veto power. Mark Gerrard should never have left Aussie. George Smith is bouncing and I am sure he will pull an Elsom. Make that intercept try for whatever team he choses and return home a hero! What happens to Elsom and Poccock?
We need to return to Wallaby grassroots and winning ways where we trusted Larkham at 10,Horan/Flatley at 12 and Jason-Little/D.Herbert/Mortlock and Burke at 15. Funny thing is Flatley was a 10 who ended up playing 12 at the RWC. It appears this might be the formula Dean's is trying to emulate!
