It looks like the Suburban Colts had a dominant performance! A 68-17 win with 10 tries to 3 against the Country Colts is pretty impressive. Must have been quite a game!

However, the Melbourne Rebels continue to operate under the current structure, with no official announcements regarding the winding up of MRRU at the end of the financial year. If any major changes happen, it will likely be made public via official channels like Rugby Australia or the club itself.

How can a team come 2nd in the competiton
Beating USYD twice
Randwick 3 teams
And having 2 narrow loses to Easts until the grand final.
Yet there’s 6 uni players , 5 from the beasties and 4 from Randwick.
is this the tahs not being able to select outside of their eastern suburbs bubble you tell me?

Yeah, it’s frustrating to see Gordon's success not reflected in the U19 NSW team selections. You’d think a team that performed so well throughout the season—beating USYD twice and pushing Easts to the edge—would have more representation.
It does seem like there’s a bit of an Eastern Suburbs bias in selections, with the majority coming from Uni, Easts, and Randwick. It's hard to say whether it’s a case of the selectors sticking to familiar names or something deeper. But players from teams like Gordon deserve more recognition, especially after a strong season. Hopefully, this gets addressed, and talent gets selected on merit, not just from certain clubs.

Or ..... Colts is U20 and this is an U19 team. Maybe all the Gordon Colts stars are U20 and not U19?
Gordon actually got 6 in U19s the extended squad of 35, including some who either play seconds colts or play 1sts off the bench. Also, Aden Ekanayake is ineligible due to Aus 7's. Be keen to hear which Gordon U19s eligible Colts you thinks should be picked over those in the named team.

Sounds more like the case that Colts is U20 - and the U20s were a very strong this year, with a number coming through keeping some U19s from last year out of the starting line-ups at the pointy end of the season. Gordon U20s players [mainly forwards?] were certainly strong, but no match for Easts U20s at the end of the season.
"Be keen to hear which Gordon U19s eligible Colts you thinks should be picked over those in the named team" - also intersted to know which U19s from Gordon may have lost out. Looks like the U19 Easts players were Colts 1s players.

There's the [Forwards] U19 selection answer then, if 7 out of 8 Gordon Forwards were U20. Looks like Easts had 4 U19s in their pack.

Ah - you answered it differently to the question - well that is curious then as #1 #2 #4 and #5 were strong, #6 and #8 were relatively weaker. Similar happened last year when the U19 side was Sydney Uni centric.

As long as that pack can get the backs some ball I think they will pile on some points. For all the talk of Fittler being a brute in the 12 I think Jorgensen can do the same. He's a big raw thing that takes some stopping. Quite different to his cousin Max.
A lot of these boys in the back have played a lot of footy with and against each other for years. Hopefully as a NSW supporter it helps them.
Brumbies have done their typical astute recruitment of 4/5 in the tight 5.
One to watch for the Brums is Jono Ryan. NSW have gone with Durbidge but this guy was as good through Gen Blue as him IMO.

Ryan is definitely a good player. Probably more all-round skills than Durbidge, but Durbidge's pilfering skills are just next level. The other Brumbies backrower who looks the goods is Beau Morrison, who is rangy and quick. Next years Wallabies U20 will have no shortage of talent and skills to choose from, but not that many big bodies though, which has been a recurring problem in recent years. Here's hoping some emerge through this tournament.

They'll be able to put a good front row on the paddock but it's the second rowers we have that are really backrow height. Doyle the NSW 8 could end up in the row given hes listed at 197cm.
Hopefully one of those lanky freaks from QLD pops up which seems to happen every couple of years.
Not sure about any in the U18s but there will be a couple from that side get picked in the 20s. My picks would be Brial the 8 and obviously a guy like Goldsbrough who is seemingly a teenager forever and there last year.
