Aug 6th 2016. Super Rugby Final. Canes vs Lions.

Whiteley fit to return to the starting lineup and lead the team. The only change to last week's team with Ruan Ackermann dropping down to the bench. Lions – 15 Andries Coetzee, 14 Ruan Combrinck, 13 Lionel Mapoe, 12 Rohan Janse van Rensburg, 11 Courtnall Skosan, 10 Elton Jantjies, 9 Faf de...

    Springbokke going forward

It is quite frustrating that there is no reaction or comment on this from any of the sport's governing bodies - IRB, SANZAR etc. They all just seem happy to sit back and accept political interference in the selection of these teams. FIFA (Yes, they are the laughing stock of the world as a...

    Springbokke going forward

This seems absolutely unacceptable to most "chicken runners". You locals are much more adaptable to ridiculous political interference.

    Springbokke going forward

Fairly sure he was referring to Jesse, not Jaco.

RWC 2015 Semi Final 1 - NZ vs RSA Twickenham

Possibly, I must admit I was annoyed by Lood's attempted tackle on Kaino around his shoulders for the try. But other than that, I don't think tackling was what lost us the game. IMO, lineouts were key as we were never able to build any momentum. I thought we were very weak on exiting our own...

RWC 2015 Semi Final 1 - NZ vs RSA Twickenham

Meyer seems to have ignored this as an option. Doesn't offer as much as Willie on attack, but is a lot more solid under the high ball and has a much more reliable kicking game. Willie has been a real weakness at the back at times this year and has not been providing much attacking flair either.

RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

Selective reading on my part!! ;) As soon as I read that initial post, I thought that it was a pretty bold statement to be making at that point and bookmarked it hoping I would be able to remind you of that comment a some point! Fair play on your revised prediction!

Apologies, I misinterpreted your previous post and then went off on a tangent!

And to add to the above....hypothetically speaking (certainly not saying I expect it to happen, or even think it is likely to happen), I would be happy for my team to win the WC without scoring another try in the tournament. And I can assure you I would be celebrating then without any concern...

Far from celebrating it, where did you get that from? I was merely responding to Cardiffblue who seems to think Barnes' refereeing favoured the Springboks over his team who were apparently squeaky clean with their discipline.

RWC 2015 Semi Final 1 - NZ vs RSA Twickenham

When last did you see this sort of outcome in contests between these two teams?

RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

Having people lying over the ball continuously without being penalised actually assists a defending team more so than an attacking team who are looking for quick ball, no? Perhaps have a watch of a replay of the game without the rose-tinted glasses, work out which team had more of the ball and...

Not possible anymore, best you could hope for is 1/2.

RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

Certainly not a convincing win from the Boks and it took a bit of Duane Vermuelen magic to finally break the Welsh defence down. I must admit feeling very concerned up to that point as the Welsh had defended brilliantly and we had not shown enough variation/creativity to break them down. As...

RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

Do they have a good record in QF's? They've made 2 out of 7 SF's so far. Perhaps if you ignore the times they didn't even make the QF, their actual QF record would look better.

IF NZ and Aust meet ........

Why wait?? The other 6 teams are basically there to make up the numbers! Let's move on and start focussing on the main contest!

What's the game coming to when these guys are getting air time BEFORE the game's even been played?! Let's hope that's the last that's written about them, both before and after the game!

Time to be positive Dewald! Yes, we've had a terrible 12 months by our standards, but we seem to be getting it right now and moving in the right direction. Let's not forget that before the EOYT 2014, we were clearly the 2nd best team in the world. We also started this season off in reasonable...
