    Rebels 2018

Cheers mate. Someone needs to get Penney on the phone, his teams have always played a great brand of footy. All I really want to see is a team that's fast, physical, can pass the ball, and work to support. The Hurricanes have scored 85 tries this year to our 18, which is just mind-boggling...

Australia v Scotland, 3:00pm 17 June Sydney Football Stadium

Moore shouldn't be anywhere near the 23, let alone the squad. He's totally done, legs are gone. It was incredible watching him last week live, honestly can't remember the last time I saw a player who was so clearly not up to the level he was playing at. Cheika really should bring Latu in, even...

This is good news. Totally unable to build a team, or gameplan, that met the demands of the Soup. What's Rob Penney doing these days?

Australia v Scotland, 3:00pm 17 June Sydney Football Stadium

Why? He's a much better player than Hunt. When fit he'll be in the XV, either for Hunt or DHP, and the Wallabies will be better for it.

Seriously, the state of him. One guess as to why none of the Kiwi teams wanted him...

    Rebels 2017

Sure, but there's no way to get into any rhythm early this way - especially since we'll be getting dicked every single week. Obviously you have to play them at some point, but balance and scheduling do make a huge difference. Totally agree on 0-5, mayybe 1-4. Very hard to come back from that to...

That start is an absolute buzzsaw. I wouldn't be surprised if we were 0-6, both byes down, after 8 weeks. Having both byes that early is jokeshop stuff, totally insane.

    Rebels 2017

? He won the Rebels player of the year a couple of seasons ago I'm pretty sure. He's been consistently excellent on a per-game basis. Not overtly physical in the way that McMahon and Reid are, but a better footballer than either of them IMO.

    Rebels 2017

I don't. Colby is close to the most underrated player in Australia. He's the most well-rounded 7 in the country, certainly has the best linking game. As good as Reid has been, he's still McMahon-lite at the moment. Would like to see him start adding some strings to his bow.

    Reds 2017

Anyone know what the deal with Izaia Perese is? Is he under contract, EPS, something like that? Was seriously impressed with him against Canberra yesterday - looks similar to a young JOC (James O'Connor). Edit - Just saw it's been covered above. Glad he's been signed up, he's the sort of kid who should be...

They're annoying losses, who's going to play fullback? A backline with Pau, Koroibete, and an in-shape Sefa, suddenly starts looking a bit explosive. If Quade can be tempted down it could be a lot of fun to watch.

Wallabies v England, Sat 11th June, 8.00pm, Suncorp Brisbane

Ignoring the conspiracy ravings, JOC (James O'Connor) had played an excellent pair of games at flyhalf for the Wallabies on the 2011 EOYT. He missed most of 2012 after being injured by Berrick Barnes, and was then playing 10 for the Rebels in 2013 (albeit badly.) Christ, this is all very deja vu. Think the...

Palu was a much quicker player than Timani at his peak. And a much better player. So while he's lost his pace, he's got a shitload of Test experience to help mitigate that. Timani would get horribly exposed at 8. Maybe playing blindside he'd be okay, but I wouldn't be banking on it.

    Rebels 2016

Meehan played in the incredibly soft part of the schedule though. And he hasn't impressed off the bench recently. Stirzaker's in his worst form for years. He looks miles off the pace fitness-wise and it's cost him. Still doesn't look totally comfortable with his shoulder either. And I don't...

    Rebels 2016

And Hanson. Honestly, I can't really say I'm surprised. Jones is heading overseas, is generally in indifferent form, and clearly not someone Cheika rates. Stirzaker has been overlooked in the past even when he was clearly a superior choice to the preferred alternatives. Given his dip in form...

There are honestly any number of ruckmen who could do a job. The reality is most of the athletic big men in the country are playing footy, not rugby. It's one of the biggest reasons, IMO, why our locking depth is weak compared to England, South Africa, New Zealand etc.

    Rebels 2016

When Ella manages to get through an entire article without referencing himself I'll begin to take him seriously. The Rebels, and Australian rugby more generally, have big issues with pace, especially out wide. Koroibete is well worth a look in that respect. While it'd be nice to poach Rory...

Wasn't Graham skills coach under Deans in 2010? When we had Cooper, Beale, and JOC (James O'Connor) slaying? I'd cancel my membership immediately if he got made head coach, but it's not like he could actually make the backline any worse.
