Good one in France v Argentina. 35 mins in

    Refereeing decisions

Yep, agreed. Kerevi was always going to get suspended because his head lined up with the ball carrier's head through the entire tackle process. He was never low enough to get mitigation.

    Refereeing decisions

The Kerevi written judiciary decision is up on the six nations site https://www.sixnationsrugby.com/en/discipline I really like that they publish these. Well worth reading the desicions if you want to understand the process

    Wallabies 2024

It was a penalty. Ref thought it was "very low danger". Yellow at least for mine It was kicked too touch and then mauled for Faesler's second try.

Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

The ref looked at a couple of other angles, not just this one. As BH said above though, another ref might see some shoulder there, and then it's a reddish yellow. Margins are thin

I guess the question is why did the commentators, TMO and ref all think "there's not a lot in that" and "very low danger"? As you say, the damage to the brain is there. If we use the process for the White one Yes head contact. Yes foul play. Ref decided it was low danger. Indirect force? No...

I think your premise is wrong. Kerevi and others in this situation aren't being found to have done anything intentional. They are being found to be reckless

No idea. But in 2022 they made 120gbp or around $240m aud from ticketing, broadcasting, sponsorship and catering from 7 England home matches. Obviously not all of those are impacted by loss of home games, and they earn revenue from non-England games as well

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby

It's a World Cup year. Spending stays the same, or even goes up to support the WC team, but revenue is dramatically reduced because they miss out on 4 sell out AI games at Twickenham. Yearly losses like this really don't matter too much if it's recovered over the cycle. The real consideration...

Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

I think that's just inherent in having discreet penalties and punishments, for foul play that is on a continuum and probably normally distributed. There are always going to be a lot more events that are dark yellow and/or light red compared to the obvious cases. All the game can do is develop...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Does this mean the Reds and Force immediately stop paying their PAYG taxes for their players right now?
  12. Strewthcobber

Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

No idea why, but a lot of reporting seems to miss the final paragraph of the press release which will mean another week taken off, so just the two week suspension. Rugbypass link

Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

I don't really see any inconsistency here? All foul play with head contact starts at medium range, which is 6 weeks for this offense. He hasn't done it before, said he was sorry and wore his best suit which almost always results in 50% reduction, and he will get an extra week off for tackle...

    Wallabies 2024

He's supposed to tackle his opponent legally and without a high degree of danger (note what's assessed there - the potential, not the outcome) Tackle techniques that result in head-on-head contact are specifically called out in the Head Contact Process as being captured, probably because the...

It depends who is running the comp (and this is where there is no consistency). July internationals are on the WR (World Rugby) website - https://www.world.rugby/news/946189/independent-disciplinary-committee-update-filipo-daugunu-australia SANZAAR run TRC November internationals - called the Autumn...

These tests are all being run by the Six Nations comp - I agree the comms isn't great but they do have a semi-decent website setup https://www.sixnationsrugby.com/en/discipline Edit - it seems like there was a press release too

    Australian Rugby / RA

If the reports are right, I just can't imagine there's much of a market at all for 8 teams playing in one city over a weekend, when most of the teams and players will have no link to the spectators paying to see it. It's like the Super Round with even less relevance to anyone. And then...

Unless I've missed other sources, the rumour seems to be coming from everyone's favourite rugby tweeter T2 rugby, and he appears to be talking specifically about the U20 trophy comp, not the WC
