    Super Rugby Pacific 2025

This was published yesterday on the super rugby site, so looks like you were right to question it https://super.rugby/superrugby/news/super-rugby-pacific-qualifying-finals-confirmed/

    Qualifying Final: 2.Crusaders v 5.Reds 6/06

The initial reports out of the Reds that Wilson's other wrist was fine and he's still up for selection for this game probably means his hand is no longer attached to his body

Brumbies v Crusaders Rd 16 (last) Fri 30th May @ GIO Stadium 7.35pm AEST

It's a knock-on, because of course it is, but if Doleman is unsighted by Reece's leg that is going to look like it's not a knock on. TMO can't help here and touchies are a million miles away

Blues v NSW Waratahs Rd 16. Sat May 31, 2025

That's the law. Pretty close either way

Brumbies v Crusaders Rd 16 (last) Fri 30th May @ GIO Stadium 7.35pm AEST

The obvious issue/risk with that is the guys they would be replaced with aren't as good, and potentially miss even more

Brumbies v Crusaders Rd 16 (last) Fri 30th May @ GIO Stadium 7.35pm AEST

Always love checking the stats and then reading the thread. Brumbies missed 32 tackles last night. How many of those can we blame Doleman for? Any calls to hold Muirhead and Frost accountable for their 5 missed tackles?

    Reds v Drua

The single worst play of the Red's season so far was when they had Ryan defending exactlu where Valetini was always going to charge at the line in the forts game against the Brumbies. Don't have to be big, but you have to be smart about it

Brumbies v Crusaders Rd 16 (last) Fri 30th May @ GIO Stadium 7.35pm AEST

It must be coached. Drop goals are something like 30-40% chance of being successful. Our coaches must believe there is a higher chance of getting a penalty and kicking it in these kinds of situations.

Brumbies v Crusaders Rd 16 (last) Fri 30th May @ GIO Stadium 7.35pm AEST

It's weird isn't it? There were 27 drop goals in the NRL last year. Way more than any rugby competitin. You'd think that influence would flow on to our game more than it does.

Force v Tahs wooden spoon battle?

That's basically what the law is now. The interpretation is just that if you keep a hand/finger on the ball then you haven't yet lost possession. The argument here would be that the winger was in control - he was trying to press down on the ball to score a try, and that's what he did

    Wallaby goal kicker?

    Waratahs 2025

Schmidt thought they were worth enough to select him on a Wallaby tour ahead of Lynagh just 6 months ago. Poor fella getting the three minutes against Ireland means he's going to be a great trivia question one day

    Waratahs 2025

Edmed's situation really puts a nail through the credibility of the NPC as a competition

    Refereeing decisions

Teams try this on semi-regularly. Any ref should know that this is not legal The other one that pops up is teams pointing at the posts and saying "we are not going for goal" I heard Michael Lynagh was reverse penalised for trying this back in the 80s (no idea if this is true) under the...

    Refereeing decisions

Not complex at all. Laws explicitly say this is not legal. Just poor knowledge from the ref

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

I take your point, but it wasn't that long ago before councils closed fields due to rain that it was fairly regular to train on fields with no grass to speak of, and you couldn't much tell the difference between the surface and concrete, as well as the places with the cricket pitch through the...

    Super Rugby Pacific 2025

Getting into really simplistic level of analysis here, but the Reds scored 0.73 maul tries per match, which is about half a try higher than the median. The Reds and Canes will really want the points. Difference between playing away at 4th and most likley getting a second chance at semis, and...

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

I wonder if there is a bit of a general acceptance of these kinds of events from many in the rugby and league communities, both here and in NZ, because it's not that long ago we were doing similar things at training. Hopefully everyone starts to see the error of our ways

    Ballymore Redevelopment

How long ago are we talking Lindommer? I'm trying to remember if I ever used this - my memory is I only ever used the narrow one east of the ground with the water pipe, connecting Noble St. Back in the glory days, with the big crowds the bus to Easts from up on Butterfield St was my go to The...
