    Round 1 2017 Waratahs v Force

Interestingly this article seems to imply otherwise: http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/reece-robinson-could-be-waratahs-secret-weapon-in-south-africa-20170226-gulje3.html with only 13/27 in the NRL.

    Round 1 2017 Waratahs v Force

Agreed. I'm almost less worried since the people who weren't performing were the big names. We know they're quality, and they can come good. I think the fact some less ingrained players like Louwrens, Latu and Skelton were playing well is a good sign. If both teams can get some of their stars...

    Round 1 2017 Waratahs v Force

He definitely didn't look the goods, but the Tahs backline in general looked very average. Phipps looked a bit lost while he was on and Hegarty looked out of place. Horne was probably the best of the backs and still didn't light things up really.

    Round 1 2017 Waratahs v Force

That's such a soft yellow card. Disappointing when I think the ref has been pretty good tonight.

    Round 1 2017 Waratahs v Force

Skelton seems to be playing the more all round game people have been wanting from him. Still not taking mass numbers of lineouts but has looked pretty consistently solid.

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

Just took a quick gander at that site and noticed a couple of interesting things about Bernard Foley's kicking. Most of his kicks have been taken from the left side of the field in the Rugby Championship (not necessarily surprising, he's a right footed kicker) A lot more kicks were taken from...

Wallabies v England, Sat 11th June, 8.00pm, Suncorp Brisbane

He's still not good, but I feel like he's improved in this area a lot this year. I wouldn't say I have confidence in him doing it with limited space at 12 though.

    Western Force 2017

Warning: pure speculation ahead. I imagine that for most players good enough to get an ARU top-up, going to the Force will be a pay cut (or at least a sideways pay movement, which considering the long move might be seen as a negative). Even if the club can pay them more, their opportunity for...

    Waratahs v Chiefs - Round 14 - Friday 27 May 2016

I don't think points on the table are any fairer than group winners for most cases. It will very much punish highly competitive conferences, and you could envisage scenarios in which none of the best 5 teams in the comp make the finals (e.g. if NZ teams all beat each other). The conference...

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

Sorry, I take it back, it is completely unsubstantiated that the whole squad respects Pocock, there may be one or more players who do not respect him, and I do not take any position on how many that may or may not be.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

It can definitely work, it's just a consideration. In terms of respect, I have no doubt everyone in the squad respects him. Respect doesn't necessarily equal like though.

RWC 2015 Final - Australia v New Zealand, Twickenham, Sunday 1 November, 3:00 AEDT

I think that having your best player as the captain isn't always a good idea either, as it can be a distraction. Obviously YMMV though. The other vibe that I've gotten is that he's not that well liked by some of the playing group. Obviously I have nothing to cite in that regard and I may be off...

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

I feel like Folau takes a lot more high balls when he's playing well than Beale did this morning. I doubt that's because they kick to him more often, but rather I feel like it's because he makes sure he's there to take them, whether it's through positioning or just confidence he'll always take...

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

Peter Hewat would like a bit more information on this "World XV of intercepts" team.

RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

They're 2/4 when making it to the QF, while SA is 3/5. That's an interesting stat. For comparison Australia is 5/7, Scotland 1/6, NZ is 6/7, France is 6/7, Argentina 1/3 and Ireland is 0/5

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

I think getting a combined six week ban is a bit rough for that. What's done is done though, and I can't see them getting a reduction on appeal. I do think however, that players need to be treated more harshly on the field, and the off field punishments should be reduced. I disagree with the...

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

Sorry, my post was horribly worded. I was trying to say that the Scots have as much right to be antsy about the citing officer's nationality as we do in situations like that one. In fact, probably more so since we're about to play them in a RWC quarter final. I agree that the process is far...

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

RE the nationality, every time an Australian is cited by a NZer with no NZ game coming up there are numerous (admittedly plenty tongue in cheek) comments on this site. I must admit I feel like all officials should be, and likely are professional enough to not allow their country of birth to...

RWC: AUS v WAL (Twickenham): POOL A; 2:45am (AEDT) Sunday 11 October

If anyone wants to relive those great 15 min of defense (and who wouldn't?) this is a great article running through it and giving plenty of praise to the gutsy effort. Long but there's plenty of pictures for all those front rowers ;)...

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

No, but we weren't making the switch in the QF of a rugby world cup. He was trained there for a significant amount of time and played minutes during the rugby championship there in order to try it out. I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that he has played a decent amount of minutes there at Super level...
