Actually I think you will find that most of these youngsters will be on $5K and not $10 to $15K. There will be those whose families are not in Brisbane (or Sydney) to enable players to live at home and these players will be living near the poverty line. What job could you possibly get that...

So if some only get paid a few thousand dollars a year, these players are going to suffer with the training schedule and working full-time, rent still has to be paid, and unless they are lucky enough to still live at home the life of an academy player looks like it would be tough.

I thought an announcement about the academy members was to be made during September, this year or next. As usual everything moves at snails pace and everybody is kept guessing, there are always a few in the know though, any of those out there who are willing to tell?
