Sorry Whisperer, I have heard of these 2 but haven't sited them as yet which was the only reason I left them off. Apparently Afamiliona is a talented midfielder and Junior Latu a talented leaguie out of Easts.

Here’s my BSHS starting XV, I’m sure there are a few players I’m not aware of or may not have named but these are the names I have I caught a glimpse of at trials, training and also a few kids I have seen coming through the representative scene. A bit of a disclaimer, I’ve heard young Roman...

ACGS vs BGS - ACGS by 15 points (Anticipate some great tries but a lot of errors by the 2024 Vikings. I can see them getting out to a comfortable lead but then giving away some soft tries brought about some errors) BSHS vs TGS - BSHS by 15 points (Home ground advantage and memory of last year’s...

Hey FTF, Do you know if NC are expecting their troops back in time for round 1? They’ve got tricky round 1 and 2 assignments against IGS and TSS where they’ll need to be on alert for. Will be interesting to see how the boys go in those early rounds while they are trying to get their troops...

Poor kid, saw footage of the incident. Happened from a hip drop tackle, was a very bad one. Speedy recovery to the young kid.

Agree with you about the upside of Churchie if they can master their new style. There is certainly a lot of ceiling but it’s a big if when it comes to nailing their new approach, the glimpses that come through so far are certainly encouraging.

I agree. Churchie were competitive but I would say TGS were definitely the most impressive of the 3 teams I saw. I thought the first third between TGS and TSS confirmed both teams as worthy contenders this year. I’m not sure the ref’s officiating of the scrum in this third was totally accurate...

Thanks for the message, some great insights I agree with your points about the new coach and Ive also heard about Brownhill’s credentials. I was’nt bagging him, (apologies if it came across like this) if anything his style is a more spectator friendly philosophy which I enjoyed when I caught...

The final group of teams are teams I would deem are either in their rebuilding phases or are not in contention for this year’s title. I also just want to say respectively and for the record, I hope these teams prove me wrong, I’m just basing my views on what I’ve seen and heard. First team is...

Final team in the potential candidates category would be Ipswich Grammar. Player to watch in the backs it’s hard to go past flyhalf / fullback Tyson Walker. The playmaker has a funny way of being in the right position at the right time and his leadership will make him a vital piece in the...

The next team in the potential candidates bracket would be Toowoomba Grammar. I’ve only been able to catch snippets, but the first player to watch from the backs would be Rhymen Tusi. The makeshift centre has found a new home for himself in the centres after being moved from the back row and...

The next few teams I’m going to mention are teams I would classify as potential contenders; teams who could get hot after a few wins and really make a tilt at the title. In no particular order the first team in this group would be Southport or TSS. If there was a team that personified “bully...

Fair enough. More mentioning him for his trial form and my point on the inside back or midfield stocks being a little thin for Nudgee.

BBC From the games I’ve managed to watch this year, the College boys look to be the best balanced team, in terms of size and experience. They have good players in the right positions and are ready (IMO) for a shot at the premiership. Amongst a well balanced group of forwards I can’t go past...

First time poster. Had a chance to watch a few teams during trials and whilst Nudgee are definitely favourites I wouldn’t agree that the margin is as vast as some would suggest. I think their size could be an issue with more a mobile pack than one with size, I believe this is why State High...
