Redcliffe or morayfield could work but best if it was based on an existing catchment wherever it is

James Durkheim comes from a Lismore and was a league junior whose old man was also a league nrl player so he is a bad example. I am more concerned about all the junior kids who come through the “pathways” and then give it all away once they have a qld u16 or u18 jersey

Is it me or does Angus give the Waratahs the rub of the green ?

one reason to use it more is the code won't have to pay the exorbinent fees to use Lang Park. When the crowds were smaller we ended up making a loss for each game which of course had to come from somewhere. (read here grass roots rugby - Higher per seat charges, extra levies and lower support...

Could always do what we did in the glory days. Stay back in the beer garden / can bar until midnight or so then get a taxi to the valley. The joys had and stories that could be told !!!!!!!!

So who are the new players (or colts stepping up to grade) around the clubs we should be watching out for to have a break out year and get us excited about depth in QLD. (or for other franchises to steal)

I thought that last week being the first game of the season would have seen poor handling etc but was very surprised at the quality of the play between the filth and red heavies across all grades. Maybe the rain will have a bigger impact, but I am sure plenty will still give a red hot go to...

More kudos to Brownie for what he and his troop have built at Sylvan Road then. Just hope it hasn't dinted his business accounts too much.

Agree. I have said it for years that club rugby in Brisbane needs to expand its geographic footprint. If you take out Bond and Sunnybank the rest are in a12 KM radius of the CBD. Growth areas like Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Morayfield/Caboolture, Beenleigh/Ormeau and Lockyer valley/Toowoomba there...

One thing is for sure, with the tightening of belts across the community and business sector there probably wont be as much "cash" floating into clubs as has been the past few years. For as long as I have been involved (mid eighties) there has been stories of payments to players at all clubs...
