    Waratahs v Chiefs - Friday 11 April 2025

I thought Dobbins was knackered by the end of the first half, good effort for the time he could play . Kellaway had one of the best outings he's had in a while.

Motivation and focus FP it works wonders. I thought the plan not to compete in the Lineout could have cost them in the end.

    Waratahs v Chiefs - Friday 11 April 2025

One of the great unsung heroes on here was Lawson Creighton. I thought his D and kicking around the ground were excellent. A couple of hits on Dmac were telling. Horror of horrors, I agree with Derpus. Either Taniella Tupoa lifts his game, or he might be playing club rugby soon.

I should have made it clear that this was a part of the article on SMH re the costs of buses.

I should have made it clear that this was a part of the article about the costs of buses. I have a daughter who is a teacher and she thinks there is far less aport than 10 years ago. Thanks Le Cheese I will look into this. My daughter teaches in a private school and half the year 50% of...

LeCheese, the reality is that sports are dying at government schools. If that is not a reason for concern, then the country will end up with an epidemic of fat and diabetic kids with many on NDIS - We are well on our way to it already. This is a quote from a 2017 report addressing the decline...

    Australian Rugby / RA

This quote below shows how parents, buses and logistics are killing off all sports in public schools. I knew it was happening to rugby, but this article is a shock. A comment on the article you linked. Students are no longer allowed to make their own way home from sporting grounds. They must be...

Moana Pacifica vs NSW Waratahs Rd 8 Sat Apr 5

Is there any value in staggering the centre replacements, allowing a bit of overlap to get a feel for the game? They are so critical to D in a game.

That quote re Ardie might point to a weakness, we also need to leave everything out there if we are going to win the Super Rugby final (assuming we get there). Maybe using Ardie as an example may be a game too far, but the idea holds.

Dan, I'm still claiming it is lack of aerobic fitness to play 80 mins of rugby. The same thing with the Reds last qtr but a great game anyway and I think the fittest of the Aus Super Rugby teams.

Has he become lazy or is it just taking him a long time to get over the A/T?

Agree with this Ghost.. I met a guy who was a trainer with the Dutch soccer team. He said they were strong enough and leg fit enough, but their core strength was poor. He gave me a list of core strengthening exercises. When I tried them out on my team, they squealed that they were all too hard...

    Wallabies 2025

Interesting view TSR, I'm not sure it will take 2 seasons to get players' aerobic fitness up. I agree with your analysis regarding northern hemi teams, although the Irish, French and occasionally Scots produced fast games with lots of contact work. The game is faster, but it is not a new thing...

    Wallabies 2025

I'm not arguing about Debrekini, he was shot before this started. If it was his job to cover then nobody was aware of the need to cover for him and maybe Wright should have been doing that. I wonder what the hell Wright is doing covering wing on their scrum put in? that is madness, when they...

    Wallabies 2025

SC, that doesn't excuse the woeful lack of fitness to cover the break,, 21 Thorn pulled a hammie (fitness) and no tackle and the cover inc Wrght was nowhere to be seen. The Highlanders were straight back into the Brumbies 22 and a knock on saved them. Larkham looked annoyed at the mess. They...

    Wallabies 2025

Watching our Super Rugby teams a common theme appears to be the commentators stating 'guys are gassed' talk starting around 65mins. We are not aerobically fit enough to play the game for 80 mins at this level. Our Super Rugby teams have lifted, but when the Brumbies let in a simple try with 1.5 mins to go at...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Super Rugby R7 2025 - Friday 28 March

Why no Leafi Talataina, is he injured? thought he was playing better than Gleeson.

    Reds v Waratahs - Sat 15th Mar - Suncorp

The issue with Aus rugby is that we have not had a lot of talent to choose from apart from wingers and backrow. Now we have talent coming through and it with that our expectations rise.

    Reds v Waratahs - Sat 15th Mar - Suncorp

The difference between French clubs and the rest is they can afford to buy more players and if they don't make it move on. It's a bit like the league system.

Great post TSR very pertinent. In rugby you are only as good as the current season or the next injury - which may be your last. Gleeson, to my old eyes, was never going to be a great 8 but many loved him for his big hits and hit ups! I did have an online affair with Charlie Cale and still expect...
