    Shute Shield 2013

Thanks Gibbo, there are quite few good colts moving up to grade and the signs are good for juniors joining colts next year

Thanks Franky, no Steve Hayter is out for the season with a fractured eye socket. Gifted player and it will be hard to replace him.

A tale of two halves. The Warringah boys came out in the 2nd half and played a controlled forwards game and through some good kicks kept us in our half for the majority of the half. We knew Mark and his lads would be a tough opponent with 4 on the trot. Both teams like moving the ball and...

    Shute Shield 2013

Gibbo just a reminder he's on loan and I need him back next week! :) Brandon is a wonderful young man not only with skill but maturity and a decent level of humbleness. A Wahroonga Tiger from day 1 and an example of our tighter relationship with the village clubs. Selectors take note you...

Thanks Sidelinesid, Randwick came out fighting in the second half and played some well structured rugby, talk about giving me a heart attack, but I am very proud of my boys

He played at Wahronnga till U16 then went to St Ives. He was in and out of the Gordon rep team during this time.

A very close encounter, and a very physical game. Congratulations to Parramatta and we look forward to the return match at Chatswood. The lift in club spirit is a testament to the hard work by the club, tip the hat boys. Also Belly thanks for the chat after the game.

HJ, totally agree and that is why we are determined to change the way things are done at Gordon and there has been significant engagement with junior ranks via village clubs. It is encouraging to see that the drive is not only from the new board but also the senior players group.

Whilst we are in the heartland of participation there are quite a few distractions. During our recent phone calls the most common reasons for not playing rugby at Gordon were, university, work, playing subbies, travel and perceived better opportunities at other clubs. Most of the lads playing...

Thank you Galah, agree we should have done this years ago

Bruce, thank you for the welcome. It's important that we replicate what other clubs are doing right to ensure the best is delivered to our players. Whilst not liking our juniors migrating to Uni and Norths etc, you have to look to see what they are doing right and what we are doing wrong. In...

    Colts 2013

Franky, thank you for your kind words. The point that I am possibly trying to make is that if we are to maintain that we are the third tier then we must get the process right. Agree that most of us are volunteers and its difficult to assign the time to ensure the correct process is followed...

    Colts 2013

OK new contributor here and not being a regular user of blogs, I hope I get the protocols right. Many of you may not know me but I have had the pleasure of coaching the lower grade colts sides at Gordon for the last few years and hope that I can add some Gordon perspective to the conversation...
