    CAS Rugby 2025

Not sure what you mean. There are 3 from each association. I had suggested. CAS - Waves, Barker & Knox ISA - Augs, Oakhill & Stannies

    CAS Rugby 2025

I honestly don't think it will make any difference (at the moment). Under any weighting system, Waves are in the top 3. If is it heavily weighted towards Opens, then Barker & Knox are also in the top 3. It is more evenly weighted across the age groups, then I think Barker & Knox are still in...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I know that the teams are having trials over the next few weekends (ie. Brumbies U20 v Force U20 this weekend in Canberra and I think next week also.) I understand that the potential players are also a bit in the dark about things.

    CAS Rugby 2025

School HoR advised that it is weighted, with the weighting bias towards the opens and reducing down to 13A's. Interestingly I asked a few times about the specifics (ie. Is, for example, the 1st XV weighted at 50% or 20%), but never got a good response. Perhaps that detail is yet to be worked...

Announcement from CAS sets out that it is just 1st, 2nds and A's that contribute.

    ISA 2025

This is the question that no one seems to knows the answer to at this stage. Are each of the 1st, 2nd, 16A, 15A, 14A & 13A given equal weighing in determining the association standings, or are the weightings bias towards the older age groups? If the weightings are overly biased towards the...

    ISA 2025

It hasn't been published, but I wonder what the weightings are on the various teams that determine the association placings. I presume the 1st XV performance is weighted more highly than 13A's? I assume that the ISA top 2 is pretty safely Augs and Oakhill. The ISA / CAS joint announcement has...

    Sydney Subbies 2025

Pfitzy, Observation from me... I have a son who just finished year 12, playing 1st XV at one of the 'lower' rated div 1 Sydney ISA schools. Many moons ago, I was involved with a Shute Shield team and my only experience with Subbies was Colleagues ladies day, so this is all new to me! From...

    NSW AAGPS 2025

The U15 Reds didn't look that strong when I saw them play a few weeks ago. They won, but only just and against a side full of reserve players. My observation on the NSW team was that there was an overemphasis on selecting backrowers based on their ball running ability. Many of the backrowers...

    CAS Rugby 2025

I would definetly put We have been told that the only teams contributing to the club championships are 1st, 2nd and age group A teams. My understanding is that it is only these teams who will play in the cross association competition. Teams not in the cross association comp (eg. B's, C's...

    CAS Rugby 2025

Re travel to Bathurst and Orange, the answer would be yes. I presume they will do what some of the schools who play those teams currently do and play, for example, Stannies and home and Kinross away. They then alternate this each year.

    CAS Rugby 2025

It will be interesting to see how the club championship point scoring system is weighted as this will have a big influence on who gets 2nd and 3rd in the CAS comp. If it is evenly weighted by age group (which I doubt it will be), then I wonder if 2nd and 3rd are less clear cut than Barker and...

    CAS Rugby 2025

Hearing that next season will see the introduction of a combined ISA / CAS competition. I believe some schools have already been advised of this. CAS and ISA will run their own competitions at the commencement of the season. At the end of those competitions, based on a club champs style...

    NSW AAGPS 2024

Luckiest man on the field - Shore no.1. Would have been a disaster for him had Shore lost. Playing at the ball and knocking it on off a kickoff that didn't go 10m with 1 minute to go. Thankfully for him all ended well!

Penalty 40m out. Tap taken by no. 4, nothing pass to no. 5, nothing pass to 12, who gives as hospital pass to 13 (who got stripped).

    NSW AAGPS 2024

I am not sure I would say scandalous, but I would say symptomatic of a flawed process… For example, the Norths 10, 12, 13 are excellent players and easily deserved selection in the Sydney team. They have cohesion from Mosman and Norths and were selected in the Sydney Red backline. As a unit...

    U16 schoolboy rugby

Interesting that 2 Waverly boys got picked straight from their school teams and not via NSWJU State Champs. A bit surprising as these age groups don't have school rep programs, so means that selectors must be watching U14 school matches??
