    Shute Shield 2012

Agree re: the junior clubs providing the support. I'm referring to the 2010 u/17's, and prior - I've watched these kids play for years and always admired them. They are from Wahroonga, Lindfield, St Ives and Roseville - all core Gordon clubs. Like I say, I'm in two minds - great to have them...

    Shute Shield 2012

"... On a seperate note it appears there is a possibility that a northern neighbour of yours has decided to travel a similar path as others with a different method by looking to stockpile playing talent by splashing around a financial net to catch some tried and as many potential young players...

    Shute Shield 2012

... and if I hear correctly, Gordon will be losing a lot more in 2012 to Norths.

    Sydney Colts 2012

Thanks Lily, I understood the term not just the context. Agree with the points and observations as to Norths in 2011. Hopefully it will improve in 2011. Should I hold my breathe?

    Sydney Colts 2012

Lily I had an, un-offical, ie: spectators, interest in Norths Colts this year and was surprised as to how poorly they went, especially late in the season. Just interested in your comment as to "... the players didn't have any skin in the game..." In what way did you mean?

    So where to from here?

Agree - nobody compares to Horan. He was just exceptional.

Mahonri Schwalger: Truth in Manu's Demise

Totally agree. I didn't know much about the Samoa players prior to RWC, but was really impressed with their captain when he spoke after games - came across as a strong man with credibility, both as a captain and person.

    The Haka

I agree with your points but there was, at least, one other "incident" against England at Old Trafford a few years back. Richard Cockrill, the English prop got right up in the AB's faces - don't get me wrong, I'm a haka supporter and think these things are good - it creates a bit of theatre and...

    The Haka

I think what Doug was saying, re: " ... now the NZRU have created a situation ..." isn't that this particular incident was directly driven by NZRU, but that the whole Haka thing, and respect for it, was a result of Wales (?) marching up on the AB's a few years ago in Cardiff. The NZRU...

    NTS/Gold Squads

If Milad Ferris is from Eastwood, I think I saw that somewhere, then he maybe Tannous Ferris' brother (played 1st Colts this year, Aussie schoolboy(?) last) so probably goes to Marist Eastwood - if not his brother, then don;t have a clue. Don't know about the other guy.

Who your least favourite rugby commentator ?

Well as Ewen McKenzie said at a lunch I went to a few years back - he, Fitz, played 7 tests which was probably 7 tests to many.

Who your least favourite rugby commentator ?

His major contribution to rugby was bruising Phil Sella's fist when he floored him.

    ONE TEAM - positivity thread

Agreed, but I'd like to see a winger do what Cory Jane did - catch the high ball and go forward after landing. It's the basic's we need to get right.

    Robbie Deans

Details? You seem to be very informed.

    Ch9 RWC coverage

The two teams did it after the Saturday night game as well - it's always been a tradition in rugby, I didn't realise it had fallen by the wayside.

3-2-1 Wallabies best on ground (RWC semi final)

absolute bullshit -we surrendered to a weak English team in 2007 without putting up the slightest fight - this AB team would have won against that Wallabies, if the AB's played with the same attitude as last night, by 50.

Not another "Four More Years Boys"

... well then I look forward to seeing Ireland perform that same movement this weekend, under the pressure of "sudden death". Should I hold my breath? Having said that, Ireland is my second team so good on them, love to see them do well. BTW, Mark Ella and Michael Hawker did a good version of...

    Shute Shield 2012

You're definitely right, I remember it - probably late 70's as I was playing Colts then and remember it as an impact. At least in 1977, the two top Colts teams were Norths and Manly - by a country mile - they didn't get to play each other until the grand final, which Manly won ( they had the...
