    Brumbies 2020

Are you talking about Manuka oval or Manuka dining precinct? We were talking about the latter. Possibly scroll back and read the conversation? o_O

    Brumbies 2020

Odd. I sat amongst at least a couple of hundred (probably closer to 1000) casual Tahs fan in Wollongong the other night let alone the strong contingent of Chiefs fans also there. Don't think I imagined that. Lord Laurie was having a great time up on the hill watching with them just behind us.

    Brumbies 2020

There are a lot of factors and I am surprised at some of the comments going back a far as Andy Friend and even the board issues. All history as far as I am concerned so I don't get why people are hanging on to it TBH. But this is the only data we have and the core issue is without supporter...

    Brumbies 2020

Possible. But the facts seem to add up. Empty stands, punters with reasons why they are not turning up. All available via the CBR times. Or contact Dutton @CBR times who is the author and a Brumbies supporter. Article is here if you can get to it...

    Brumbies 2020

CBR Time article Feb 12 2020 (behind paywall). If winning fixes everything, why are the stands still empty when the ACT Brumbies run on to Canberra Stadium? CBR times have undertaken several polls (over a 12 mth period) asking why fans won't come to Brumbies games. The Jones issue came up and...

    Brumbies 2020

Manuka has little appeal to families. The AFL and T20 have shown this.

    Brumbies 2020

As stated In the media several times by the Brumbies themselves, one poor gate could put them in financial difficultites. So the question I have is why do it with less than 75% of your stakeholders on board (based on a soft pole)? I don't believe many supporters (other than the old school ones)...

    Brumbies 2020

Yep. In part (I love I can do this) it's the Tahs supporters fault! Feed back due to forced moves shows that some venues seating is shite to watch games, particularly ovals.

    Brumbies 2020

A recent Canberra times pole showed many still pissed at the Brumbies after the board debarkle. With memberships, if you change, alter , vary memberships you need to rebid for your seats. Most will just walk rather than fight with the Brubies to attend games in the seats they want snd may have...

    Brumbies 2020

Canberra is AFL starved and really Manuka is the only venue. Crowds have declined recently.

    Brumbies 2020

UPDATE: Brumbies are are providing refunds to members for the seat value (possibly car parking as well) for the Manuka game. One key piece of information provided by the Brumbies that has surprised me is that in in 2017 more than 25% of Brumbies stakeholders said they would not attend a game...

    RD6 : Brumbies v Sunwolves, Wollongong Friday 6 March 2:45pm AEDT

Wrong thread but you both right about giving players opportunity and talking to the oz Sunwolves players. Last year I has a conversation with Ed Quirk about his coming back to Oz. He was in sensational form but he mentioned that it's really hard to get back to Oz. Quirk and Shatz could be good...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Your spot on about the cost. But on the other hand they may have to take the gamble, be creative on how nad invest as the key risk ehre is that for the like of Optus it may up their cost and drag down what they can offer RA. That then open up the Foxtel low ball offer and RA is in a world of...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

The reality of this process is all media outlets are looking to get the best deal at the lowest price. Leaks in papers, rumours and stories is the norm in these process. No bids being put forward for the formal process is nothing unusual. Houses still see even though no one out in a bid at the...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It would certainly need some thinking, innovation, long term view and willingness to invest. It wouldn't be cheap but the ROI could be significant. This is where they need to find a good partner. The Aussie market is virgin territory when it comes to this concept. There a few players looking at...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Spot on. Go and have a look at the articles at my post post @ #2473. It lays out the strategies they use etc. - how they story tell etc. F1 uses a similar model. This is all from 2017 so it not new. We are just behind. When we brought our production in-house, we made a concerted effort to do...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Key difference is as per what the NHRA and many other sports are doing, they are essentially selling content not rights. They do not put the rights to market. Thats starting to become an old school way of doing things. With websites and social media needing the same content as TV it can get...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

^^^^^ As per the conversations RH and I have been having, below is an example of the commercial streaming platform we discussed. These are becoming more readily available to support the emergence of streaming as the primary broadcast means. It supports a lower cost in-house production model many...
