    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Thanks Bob, about right. Tries to Palmer and Grover both incredible individual efforts. I rate Liam Grover, really good player. Reds did well for 60 mins to pick off the Tahs line out and scrum but no match in the carry department or in the backs in the end.

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Commanding performance by the Tahs 20s in winning 40-12. In all honesty they left a lot of points out there against a disappointing Brumbies team who outsmarted them in the u19s only 5 months ago. Brumbies had the better at scrum time but that was all. The Tahs second row of Mangelsdorf and...

    Waratahs 2025

Just heard at a long lunch that Fergus Lee-Warner is out for the 2025 season from a broken foot picked up in Japan last week. I was worried about second row and back row stocks already, now this …

    Waratahs 2025

Had a mate from the UK at the game who sent a message with a bit of details. He said the Tahs 8 (Talaitana) and 11 (Saunders) looked really good for guys straight out of U20s and both carried exceptionally well. The second row of Sinclair and Lee Warner showed their experience in leading the...

    Waratahs 2025

Although not named in the squad, I understand Jamie Adamson (former England 7s player who had an excellent season for Easts this year) has been training full time with the squad in recent weeks. Maybe they are looking at him as backup?

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Well done the Brumbies U19s, and no qualms from me if their U19 coach does the Junior Wallabies next year. He showed last year was no fluke. Next year’s Australia U20’s puzzle coming together a bit more after the Super Rugby 19s and the AUS U18’s matches. No doubt a lot of movement to come in the next...

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Hard to argue with any of that. I've a massive soft spot for the Brumbies and feared a hiding based on prior results. If anything I think the Waratahs really missed Durbidge.

I understand they are going to Japan. Think it's January (?) but unsure of itinerary.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Why should we be surprised a Brumbies team could put together a clinical performance like that vs the Tahs in the 19s? Their heavy loss vs the Reds was a major aberration and there is a good team there which was on full display today. Brumbies front row were dominant in all facets. Apa showed...

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

That’s an interesting take on things to single them out like that. Durbidge had to come off injured after a pretty good first 20 minutes,, and in today’s Courier Mail article, the Tahs coach identified Doyle as his best player.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Syd H linked and distributed very well, definitely a good player. Palmer, Grover, Jorgensen and Watts ran amok on the wings. Dillon with the Brumbies now, and Fowler and Turinui shared the No. 10 duties. 3 sets of props rotated through, all very good and demolished at scrum time. Cesare from...

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Waratahs u19 104 - Country u20 7. Huge mismatch sadly. U19 outside bacls were lethal.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Great to see the Tahs 19s vs Country u20s being scheduled tonight. No doubt there will be more league scouts with bigger cheque books there than we can muster together. Here’s hoping there are some big bodies with plenty of talent coming through - we sure need them.

Should Aus/NZ Test Sides Pick Overseas Players?

On the same weekend as the Super Rugby Pacific final (because we won't have anyone in it), play an Aussie Super Rugby XV vs Aussie Overseas XV game (series) every year and pick the Wallabies from that. Make it our modern version of the 'All Black trials'. That might settle some arguments.

Having no NRC is better how?

We currently have Super Rugby teams touring to get experience and exposure beyond club level. With the U16 and U19 having a national competition for 6 weeks around October, you would think a similar compressed 4-teams national comp (less Wallaby players) is the simplest and cheapest way forward...
