For some reason he wasn't in Unis team lists for Easts but played for Uni seconds with half a game for the Firsts.

Not sure about the young guns. They may need to get past a couple of older guns but as far as CAS backs are concerned. My suggestions are and yes I knowthis is early and subject to availability : Half:Harry Jenkins ( B) then Whicker (T) or Whitaker ( W) 5/8: Jamo Clark ( T) Pierce Richards( K)...

CASselector, i have to disagree.I think if Clunies is fit he'll be fullback and Patterson willbe on the wing or may challenge for 5/8. I'm surprised you've forgotten that you ( or one of your fellow selectors) picked Patterson at 5/8 and Clunies at fullback for the CAS U 16 As 2 years ago when...

    CAS Rugby 2012

Snort , appreciate the update. I watched quite a few games of Trinity last year and they were a very dominant, entertaining team within the CAS. The thing about them was they could score tries from anywhere. They might not be the best defensive team but in the end it didn't matter because they...

    CAS Rugby 2012

There seems to be a reasonable amount of commentary about Trinity on this thread and i look forward to hearing about their result against St Gregs this w/end. I think they finished about middle of the ISA last year?? But what about the other schools? From another thread it looks like Barker is...

    CAS Rugby 2012

I don't think the recent CAS change, from playing each school once to playing each school twice is to blame. If anything I believe that has enhanced the competition. Its more likely the rise of the soccer mums and that some schools draw from a catchment where soccer is more popular.More kids...

Sorry this was supposed to be in reply to CTPE's post not the beasts. Been a long week and the vino is going down well. But yes keen to know who will replace Ingram Melsom & Tala?

Yes Cam Orr in the front row.Is filling in due to injury but think he could easily move back to lock or loosie. Hazell as well is a flanker or nos 8 and should be nos 8 next year. Cam has played very well for an u16 in the trial matches.

Waves actually I did mean Pat Sio was the only under 16, last year to play opens but thanks for the reminder about Anderson ans Talakai. 2 class CAS players both v dominant in their respective postions. Anderson certainly entertaining to watch ( apologies to any front rowers who just love to...

    CAS Rugby 2011

The CAS selectors obviously thought enough of Sio to run him in the CAS seconds last year( for 1 game) while he was still an under 16. The only under 16 to get a game with opens.Perhaps they remembered that they'd played his brother Scott in the CAS 2nds 2 years in a row when in his final year...

    CAS Rugby 2011

I would not put Ingram Melsom in same category as Pat Sio (nos 8 Trinity). I have watched both boys since u 13. Melsom is a big agressive unit but does not compare to the speed, aggression and skill of Sio. And as for being disappearing after being hit,not sure about Melsom but for Sio thats BS!

Good call, Done that. Trinity is definitely stronger than last year but so it seems is Cranbrook. I favour a Trinity win at Trinity but they do at times struggle against Cranbrook. Cranbrook given some recent solid results could provide an upset but Trinity has the ability to score tries from...

Thanks Elfster and the Chosen for your comments on the Knox/ Newington match. Interesting result & sounds like a good contest given I believe it was about 12-12 with about 10 minutes left. Not sure if Baldwingforward saw the Trinity / Riverview but I wouldn't write off Trinity just yet based...

    ISA Rugby 2011

Trinity 27 v Stannies 23 at Stannies. Tough arm wrestle where apart from first 20 minutes Trinity lead all the way with Stannies always clawing back into contention. Basically a battle in the forwards from 2 good packs but a number of slick trys scored by the backs as well. Stannies 4,7 and 14...

    Sydney Colts 2011

Brumby Colts 41 v Randwick Colts 7 at Goulburn yesterday. The game was warmup for Brumbie Runners v Randwick Firsts which was being held in Goulburn to celebrate openning of impressive new club house.Simon Poidevin officially opened it. Brumby Colts way too strong with very slick backline...

    CAS Rugby 2011

Trinity should be a contender this year but as has been suggested by some other contributors has tendered to lack the rugby depth of some of the other CAS schools.Injuries tend to take a greater toll on schools such as Trinity, St Aloys & Cranbrook than the traditionally stronger schools Knox ...

    CAS Rugby 2011

Bradley Jack Debreczini is a West Harbour boy and played CAS in the 16s and opens in the last few years. He is doing yr 12 again this year thru Pathways and is still U18. Pat Sio is Scotts younger brother and imo is more mobile and a more damaging runner than his brother. Though still only u17...
