It has begun. Apparently this system will be used to target key players and take them out, and in the process "sacrifice" a player. Or so some voices from afar are suggesting. :rolleyes: Can't say I remember many instances of that in the trials so far.

I agree, but Rugby admins don't do this stuff well. I'm not sure it's a great idea in the long run, unless the position from most of the home nations on red cards changes dramatically. Having different systems in different hemispheres will probably create more problems than it solves. Plus...

Cue the howls from the NH regarding red cards. I think the distinction between "really foul play" and no replacement after 20 mins, and "kind of foul play" where they can be replaced after 20 mins is going to cause some issues.

Don't really get why it has to be a "debate". Kailea is pretty good, with a small set of data from Test rugby; Bell has been very good at Test and Super level when fit, but obviously had recurrent injury issues. Unless someone has their eyes painted on, Bell obviously has a huge upside, but the...
