True, but It’s just a matter of focus, all those schools give out more academic scholarships and focus on academia. Grammar also being academically selective.

Yeah, rowing is still a huge focus (Shore just won the junior pennant back from view) I think the other schools are just putting more focus on it recently, was great to see Joeys win the HOTR (kind of)

Curious why so many are keen on Shore this year, Preseason form? Seems like Newington could also have an impact if they play to their strengths, view showed great heart and composure. All seems pretty even across the 6 schools which is a good thing for the comp…

Schools that screen on sporting prowess and offer places to gifted kids ‘in those areas’ tend to have lower academic results. It’s a fairly uncontroversial ‘data backed’ observation isn’t it? Once again, it’s interesting to see how Kings seem to be sustaining results in rugby/athletics/ rowing...

Most schools offer ~20 academic and music scholarships per year to keep ATAR results high. It shows through in numbers when you go beyond that for sports.

Great to hear, the kings boys I’ve come across were some of the most respectful I’ve encountered, glad to see the success hasn’t gone to ‘most’ of their heads ;-)
