Wallabies v Fiji, 3pm Sat 10th June, AAMI Park, Melbourne

This is a banana peel game for the Wallabies. Win comfortably, and it will be just what was expected - no big deal. Win close or lose and it will be like the end of sanity in Australia - maybe even for the coach. They need to have a big win for it to count to many of the fans. Hopefully, none...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Off topic, but further to the discussion on lifting tackles, did anyone see Beauden Barrett's tackle (maybe on Leinert-Brown?) which started as a ball and all front on tackle, but Barrett fell backwards and took the ball runner over him and to ground towards the try line (though about 30 - 40m...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Mostly agree Reg, but it appeared to me that Stewart was in position a couple of times to take the drop goal in those last few minutes but Nucifora went wide. And I don't think that was due to exhaustion on Nucifora's part as he'd only been on a handfull of minutes. I thought it was by far the...

John I. Dent Cup 2017 - ACT Premier Rugby

Good to see Manly becoming the seaside team in the Brumbies catchment area. Dave Beat will be ecstatic.

As RR says, Coleman and DHP but I'd also add TPN. Anyway, console yourself that you have a star performer turning out for Fiji.;)

    Brumbies 2018

Butler is really a fourth option imo. Need to have a legitimate jumper at 6. So I'd rather see Poey say at 7 with one of Cusack or Hyne at 6.

    Brumbies 2018

Assuming Smiler will also be lost, (has apparently signed with a Japanese side, but not sure if full time or just between seasons), then I see the 6 spot being competed for by Cusack, Hyne or one of the Oakman-Hunts. In any case, it is well covered. I think Cusack, Pocock, Butler/Fakosolea...

Johnson-Holmes on the bench to cover LHP. Just shows his versatility. Guarantee he could play hooker of ever required. Only improvement I would offer would be to start Swinton in place of Hockings.

    Rebels 2017

Really has nothing to do with the Lions. It is the same format that Super Rugby has had at least for years but probably since its inception. Thankfully, World Rugby has had the sense to move the mid-year test window to July, but I think it doesn't kick in until after the 2019 RWC.

    Rebels 2017

How many more games do you think the Rebels have this year A. Far as I know, it's only two. So the rest would be one?

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Sure you're right HL, but I have a feeling that the lift in skills and combinations going from a makeshift BaaBaas side to an established Super Rugby side in the Blues will be greater than the improvement the BILs might get from their few changes.

    The Wallabies Thread

Just to add a couple of names to the list FF (Folau Fainga'a); Makin as being Super Rugby standard now and potentially test standard in future, and Johnson-Holmes as another outstanding performer at U20s level and with the potential to go the whole way. No 3 looks pretty well covered for a decade or so if they all stay here.

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Uelese went off injured against Samoa, and it didn't look good. Anyone have news? What impact will it have on the team makeup if he's not available? Assume then Maafu will start and Malolo will cover hooker from the bench. Who then would be the bench LHP? I noted that Johnson-Holmes moved to...

I daresay no-one would notice the difference.:(

Wallabies v Fiji, 3pm Sat 10th June, AAMI Park, Melbourne

Tahs' scrum has perfected the tactic of collapsing as soon as the ball is behind the hooker's feet so that they can't be pushed off it. That is experience as working as a unit, surely. Edit : On a serious note, I believe Sio is not ready for the Fiji test, so I expect Smith to start and...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

But the Reds had McIntyre and Mason as the U20s No 10s in intervening years and the hype was that both of them were the best in the country and would in short time be rusted on Wallabies. Neither has yet shown that they can grow into the adult game, and I suspect Stewart will be in the same...

    Reds 2017

I would hope to see a massive improvement in him before he generated any interest down at the Brumbies. Not impressed.

    Reds 2017

Haven't been watching SS. The better 10? I thought maybe Horwitz but asfaik he has been in the Tahs for some time now. All the same, Horwitz has a lot more experience than Mason, and would be expected to be a better player at this stage of their careers.

Wallabies v Fiji, 3pm Sat 10th June, AAMI Park, Melbourne

Will be at least one change and perhaps more to those selections. I just can't see Cheika playing Allan Ala'alatoa at LHP. And Scott Sio has apparently already been ruled out of the first test. So, the front row will probably look more like 1 - Toby Smith, 2 - Moore, 3 - Kepu or Ala'alatoa. I...

    Force V Hurricanes @ NIB - Rd 15

What exactly did Tom Banks and Rory Arnold (Brumbies' team-mates) get up to together that resulted in a sanction? Nothing to do with your introductory statement, I hope?
