Reds v Tahs : Opening game of the season

Oh come on NTA, I could watch the whole game again and find 50/50 things that went against the Reds. If you want to believe Joubert has a problem with the Tahs, get over it, build a bridge, spank your inner moppet, do something. No offence, but watching the whole game again to find 50/50 calls...

    Lessons from round 1 (?)

They really need to find some succession planning for Waugh. He seems to be struggling with the changed rule interpretations this year. Tahs scrum was great - I'd say that it won them the game, in fact. More desperation at the breakdown needed. Reds are typically soft there, but the Tahs...

Reds v Tahs : Opening game of the season

I have no doubt my face will be red as I yell at the damn Reds losing yet again. But it can't be more frustrating than last year - beaten by a cluesless Tah side off a stupid hail mary midfield bomb. Catch the damn ball, you galah. At least it's not being played in Sydney, the whole damn city...

    Brumbies Player Ratings (v Force)

Every bit as good as Joe Roff? No way has Shepherd played enough to prove that. Roff's lines and positioning were unbelievable for a guy that was otherwise not the fastest or most skilled around. Harrison? As WJ said, all he did is talk and sledge all night. Wasn't impressed, and I think the...

    James O'Connor

The forwards were the Force's best played, followed by J'OC. The Brumbies' best player just may have been Sam Harris. Anyway, the way the Force's forwards counterrucked all night was impressive. Shame their backs were completely useless most of the time they had the ball going forward.

    Cheaters V Bulls

I only saw some highlights on FoxSports, but jeez, the defence of the Cheetahs in the S14 is woeful. Tackle after tackle dropped off. Why are they better in the Currie Cup? Can they just not step up?

Reds v Tahs : Opening game of the season

I posed a bit on the other thread (Reds), but Horwill at 6 is a huge fail. Not enough mobility for a flanker. A tight, wet game and you might get away with it, but it probably won't be (wet). Horwill needs to be at lock. Davies over Morahan is another curious (very poor I think) suggestion too...

    Brumby Runners v Junior Waratahs

    No Freier.

    QLD Reds 2010

Sigh. McKenzie's huge problem with the Tahs was bizarro selections sometimes, and he's done it again in my book. Horwill at 6? Fail. Davies over Morahan? Fail. Walsh over Lucas is another interesting call, and another I wouldn't necessarily agree with. Ezra Taylor was pretty poor in the game...

    George Smith to retire!!!

Pocock's performances on the EOYT showed it was the right decision to play him, though. If he had failed, you might have a gripe - but he didn't. And it's not like Smith was forsaken by Deans - he was rotated at 7, and still in the matchday 22 anyway.

    S14: SA Derbies

Re: Round 1: SA Derbys (Tin Ears vs Brutes & Lions vs Stormers) Hmmm, interesting that Juries isn't wanted on the bench. Think the Stormers will easily accounter for the Lions, by maybe 10+ points. Think the Brutes will beat the Cheetahs too, but it will be closer than a lot of people around...

    TSF Tipping: Aussies 2009 Champions?

PB; wouldn't have minded being in one of the Saffa teams for once, but no worries. Will see where KP puts me.

Final Trial - Reds v. Force

Lee - Reds still really weak at the breakdown. Not sold on Taylor yet, and the backrow of Taylor, Horwill and Braid was outclassed, and the tight 5 went missing for much of the game, Weeks being maybe the more notable. Force forwards dominated all night. Some champagne rugby at times from J'OC...

    TSF Tipping: Aussies 2009 Champions?

Yeah, that tipping comp is one of the best, I love how it is run and how the scoring works. Very unique. PB, might sign up, but seeing as there is no Aussie team might need to whore myself out!

    Pretorius gone

Really disappointed that I don't get to see Pretorius running around this year, and tragic news for the Force. Was hoping he'd get through the S14 injury free, but to be honest, I'm not that surprised - but had expected at least a few games. So Bartholomeusz to 10 now with Harris the backup...

    Brumbies v Waratahs Trial

Lee - so Tilse still has a contract? Surprising. Amazed how (SuperProp(tm)) Tilse has kept his contract yet the Tahs have missed out on signing the (previously unsigned) Sydney Uni front rowers keeping him out of first grade.

Final Trial - Reds v. Force

Which eight of the Reds current 5 Wallabies and 2 Wallaby tourists (Hynes, Ioane, Genia, Cooper, Horwill, Morahan, Kingi) and 3 former Wallabies (Holmes, Hardman, Turinuri) and 1 former All Black (Braid) don't you rate as good enough for the S14? ;)

    Brumbies v Waratahs Trial

Sppok - I think that Sheperdon had a slow start to last year as well. Sheperdson might just be a perenially slow starter.
