Cardiff have converted to a synthetic pitch as well.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

I don't know. With the right training and development some of the country Unions might put up more of a fight than you may think. I know the U13s of this year are fairly strong. But I agree in one respect. Hopefully the ARU maintain this until they manage to turn things around financially and...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Read the page before this. A similar system to the one used in Ice Hockey could help rectify that issue.

    Waratahs 2014

Caught in a Rugby players version of purgatory.

    Sonny Bill

An Olympic Gold Medal is probably worth more in his mind than trotting about a boxing ring. He'd have to go straight from the RWc (if he plays) and straight into 7s specialisation training to make it.

    Waratahs 2014

Porecki would be a good pick up. There must be some down side to Roach we don't know about. He's increased his physicality noticeably this season, good around the pitch and strong in contact. Strange he hasn't been picked up yet. At this rate he'll likely be another one lost to the NH soon enough.

    Gold Coast 7's - 12 & 13 Oct

My sister-in-law who has absolutely no inclination toward the game commented on that yesterday. She was out to lunch with my brother and a few of their friends (Hooters) and the TV's were all on the 7s with one on the ITM Cup. She and her female friends were particularly taken with the physiques...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

I don't see 15 games as especially high. You need to provide as many games as possible to talented footballers so they can develop further. The more tough, physical rugby they get the better they'll be in the long term. The kids that want it bad enough can do it. I can only use my experience...

    Gold Coast 7's - 12 & 13 Oct

A better overall start for our boy's. The commentary stated that they had an 8 week training bloc leading into the series which goes to show we need to get these guys training together as a squad full time. Our 6th professional outfit if you will. We need to find 20 or so guys and make their job...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Well, surely the most talented 16 y.o's will likely just matriculate further into the U17s group. There will be some capable of doing so. A lot of the 18 year boy's would be looking toward Colts by that age. In regards to the rep/districts particularly in the intermediate years between squad...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Wouldn't that be the point of the JGC? To provide an avenue to those outside the traditional or dveloping schools competitions to access similar levels of professional training and development.

    Galloping Greens

This was years ago apparently. It was what I was told at least. He was the one who recruited me to Randwick but moved on in my last season there. I was told he was at Souths. I always thought that was a strange choice because he was very much a Randwick man through and through.

    Gold Coast 7's - 12 & 13 Oct

And we finally get the win. Great tension but will it come back to bit us in the final?

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

That would work. I'm talking basically any offence in the 22 or red zone. Most of them all pretty cynical. Perhaps not offside but everything else. I just think if teams knew that they could be lose multiple players at once they'll be more inclined not to be so cynical near their own line. I...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Another area would be to tidy up the advantage laws in terms of what constitutes advantage across all officials particularly in terms of penalty advantage. At the moment its a little too variable depending on individual interpretation of the law. At the elite levels I think the TMO could be...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Could implement a similar system to that of Ice Hockey. A two minute time out for any offence committed in the "red zone" or within the 22m. The offending player has to stand in a box on the sideline for a two minute period while the opposition attempts to maximise the opportunity of a little...

Maximising the opportunity of Rugby 7s in Australia

Greg's:) I agree. We do need to get more serious about 7s in NSW. It could also be a fantastic development tool for the game as well.

    Galloping Greens

It's good to read about. For those who would know, when did Jim return to the Wicks. He was at Souths when I finished my time there.
