    Reds 2011

Elfster; I think we might need to wait to see if Moody's downgrades the Big Four before we can be confident of their continued largesse in Australia sport ;)

    Rebels vs. Waratahs - 2011R01

Who knows; at some point someone may even talk about the game. Personally, I think a mod shoud just change the thread title to "Rebels vs. Waratahs Trash Thread".

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

If (and this is a big "if") Sommerville is back to his old form and ability in the scrums, then he is a better THP than Baxter. And without Robinson starting, the Tahs have lost their main attacking weapon at scrum time. I doubt Kepu could trouble an inform (back to the previous "if")...

What's the news on Rooney? Still injured or not considered?

    2011 Rnd 1 Reds v Force

PS go the Reds in round 1, I will be there!

    2011 Rnd 1 Reds v Force

Lee, and didn't the league solution with keeping 12 guys in a huddle work a treat? I reckon that over 90% of league scrums end up with a wing or centre at first receiver who merely hits the ball straight up. Such a waste of an opportunity to create more space. Regarding league...

    6 Nations 2011

Was anyone else amazed at how Scotland managed to not score against 13 men, despite so many opportunities?

    The defence of Matt Giteau

Can someone explain please to Giteau that there's no stigma in being a better 12 than 10? No-one thinks less of Horan becuase of it. We have some good options at 10 and we don't need a converted 12 there who has struggled for consistent form for 2 or so years; what would be nice is a world...

    Western Force 2011

...only problem is, they'd probably be 4 behind when he kicks it.

    Brumbies 2011

Ta, dobduff. Julian Savea sounds like one to watch, in particular.

    Western Force 2011

They also, apparently, have very sharp teeth and a nasty bite. When animal control handlers come to capture / move them, the gloves they wear are amazingly tough and thick, and they are still really careful about getting bitten through them.

    Brumbies 2011

Not a bad Canes team - doubt the Brumbies will win the trial unless they (meaning their squad players, as their starts return) improve massively from the trial vs the Reds. That backrow of the Canes will be dynamic - Levave and Vito in particular can really get around the park. That's a pretty...

    Waratahs 2011

You should be more specific on your judging of best Aus side, as more than one Aus team has won two "Super" titles.

    Blues Vs Chiefs Pre-season

Agree about Payne. When I've seen him, he's been pretty cracking. Thought he deserved more game time than he got at the Crusaders, but geez, the Crusaders got a handy replacement in Dagg.

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

IIRC, Betham started out at the Brumbies, but was always injured. He wasn't long at the Tahs, I thought, but looked good in trials. Nadolo unfortunately never did enough at the Tahs to show why he should get a shot. They were always unlikely to get a run once Beale shone at fullback anyway...

    Lads, help needed.

I remember that Sailor double - the first try of which was really symptomatic of the Tahs that year. The Reds scored, and Wendell took the kick-off, broke Freier's attempted tackle, and ran about 70m to score a(n all too easy) solo try. The Tahs that year could really dominate games - for 10...

    Brumbies 2011

Great news for the Brumbies, with Moore, Alexander, maybe AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). All key players. Not too sure who else of the senior players they will retain - Elsom and Gits are both likely off and probably always were, so the Brumbies and ARU have done a great job with their retention. Next generation young...

    Waratahs 2011

Personally, I'd take AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) over Horne at 13 quite easily.

My Reds jersey still has "Bank of Queensland" on the front :(

Players from last years Under20 World Cup

Wasn't Siliva Siliva in the Force Academy, or has the beers already gone to my head? Big THP PAE left the Reds Academy to get a full team spot at the Force. I suspect he will pop (prop?) up sometime on the bench this year, as injuries take their course, despite not likely being ready for Super...
