    Where to for Super Rugby?

I truly hope that those are NOT the only options they are discussing.

No need. Just tell Link to have them change their jersies. Nothing else required.

Reg, when do you expect international borders and the 2 week quarantine to be dropped? Let's think this through. I imagine it to be the last restriction to drop and not likely before a vaccine is available and implemented. Internally let's hope that restrictions are eased much earlier than that...

Only, that's ONLY, if the international partners are able to accept the necessities is Aus. If so then welcome. But only then.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Where is this speculation, BR? I would imagine that Aus/NZ borders that may be relaxed ahead of others, however I don't see a relaxation of 2 weeks quarantine (international entries) prior to general relaxation. By either Nation. In the mean time, if ever there was a situation that could be...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

This is a fundamental situation that the pro SANZAAR, pro Kiwi pundits refuse to recognise. Add to it that while NZ rugby actually performs financially very well, there is no available expansion, but plenty of room for contraction. I have increasingly reached a position that those pro Kiwi...

This post needs more recognition! Reg, are you sure? I only ask because I had thought the unions would survive as RA drowned. The unions failing is another matter altogether. RA pretty much becomes irrelevant at that point, though we should probably respect the unions with no Super franchise -...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I don't see how this can be practical - a purchased RA is relying on the good will of WR (World Rugby), SANZAAR and continued membership from the unions. None of that is a lock without further negotiations.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Oh, it's definitely a problem. The solution is to have enough teams to open opportunities. Opposite to what has been happening under Super.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It is an Australian rugby discussion forum. I would not take the same tone or approach if I was commenting on as NZ site. But I'm not. And I have no problem whatsoever with a suggestion of Aussie bias. Right now all decisions, that is ALL decisions needs to be no shades of grey just 100%...

I am not far behind fans who say they will drop rugby if Kearns fills the CEO chair. But to be fair to the guy he has outlined some form of vision and direction forward. It goes along the lines of withdrawing from SANZAAR and going domestic. I suspect he is on the Jones/ Papworth bandwagon...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

In the first instance, Dan, we need to learn to live in a SARS-Co2 world. Unless you think she will do otherwise the NZ PM is not going to open borders, at least not without quarantine restrictions, until we are in a post-SARS-Co2 world. Think 12-18 months. So for now a world club championship...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Basically we look to SOO because it forms rep teams behind the national team and it is the only example we have. ofc SOO generates huge tribalism which my suggestion may not. The idea is to distill the talent into high performing teams that might even proceed to a Super style knock out...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Agree, but it means borders at least semi-closed until we have a vaccine. My point here is that we have little choice but to chase domestic, even if in the long term it is not our chosen path. Very few virologists or epidimologists are predicting a vaccine earlier than 18 months.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Half - always love your contribution. But here is something to add to your equation. I dont think that the border restrictions are going to be released until we have nailed corona and that means a vaccine. Which in turn means 12-18 months, but think 18 months. As we get the case number down...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I stopped here. You need a national comp under that and some better justification behind the three chosen - on an across Aus fan basis. Or we stop pretending rugby is a national sport.

Show me the details behind that claim. I might even get on board. But no, yournotrite if yournotrite.

Good luck to you shanky, but I find it incredulous that there is actually a Kearns for CEO supporter on GGR. It is pretty much the only thing I can think of as worse than Clyne.
