    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

My team is finalised: Alexander, Myth, (Weeks) Battleship, (Chilliboy) Francois Luow, Sykes, (O'Neill) Kaino, Thomson, Saffy, (Salvi) Cowan, (Genia) Bieber, Carter (the good one), the Duck, (Uys) AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Sivi, Lambie (c), (Poki) I'm hoping for about 350 this week, but I'm not too bullish on my...

    Force vs Sharks - 2011R03

Bleh, I use the term "spear tackle" all the time, and it's a good term, but the fact is it doesn't exist as rugby. I like to classify a spear tackle as when the tackled player goes past the horizontal as per the league definition, and that generally happens in one of two cases: 1) a player is...

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

I am actually seriously considering buying Matt Todd because of his price and I reckon he will score well vs the Ponis, but am worried because McCaw will be back soon and will likely force Todd to the bench (and I can't afford the transfer when that happens). I reckon McCaw will start off the...

    Brumbies 2011

Chapman could (should?) be effective at lock if he could play a tighter game. I was happy with his effects there last year up until I realised he was still playing too loose.

    Force v Blues - 2011R04

Kahui is a "food bill", as TSF likes to call him, Ranger is more a strong wing with limited distribution skills, and Umaga is too old and won't be considered (and I doubt is up to it, despite still showing touches of his old class at times). So the two I grant you will definitely be Smith and...

BTW, SBW on Coleman is one humongous mismatch. Could potentially reap big points.

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

Hmmm, maybe a good call on Doppies - you'd look to keep him for 2 weeks as well. This week he has the Cheetahs, and next week will have the Force on their first game in SA. Both could score decent points. But you'll potentially be paying for it - he's not cheap at $429k. Dan Carter is just...

    Force v Blues - 2011R04

I find it interesting as to how the Blues have shuffled their backs this year. Always thought of Payne as more of a fullback, with Ice a utility back who has not settled in his best position of either out centre, wing or fullback. Brett's more of a five eighth, whereas I reckon that Lucky Luke...

I reckon Ranger, Payne, the Rok, and Ice from the Blues are also all worth consideration this week, coming up against a very weakened Force midfield.

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

Geez, so torn this round. Why isn't SBW an inside back, damnit? Ultimately I really want to swap AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) with SBW, but I'll try to do it next week...so tempted to use my wild card just to clean out my squad, but you just know that the wild card will be needed for those 3 weeks in a row of 4 teams...

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

BTW, anyone know how long Poki is out for? edit: Hmmm, backrow decisions: Derrick Minnue vs Ashley Johnson vs Jerome Jaino vs George Whitelock vs Matt Todd? I am thinking that McCaw will be back soon so Todd will be out. Someone like Kaino or even Whitelock might be better to hold in the...

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

I am seriously boned as well with Pocock and Poki out injured and Salvi on the bench for the Ponies. Only thing worse could now be Saffy rubbed out as well. I need to use two transfers to ditch Qooooade Cooper and TPN, and now Poki + Pocock. I can't dump Salvi as well, and I can't dump AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)...

    Force v Blues - 2011R04

Only thing to be wary of for the Blues is that they are heading back from SA. Force are up against it, really. Both outside centres gone, Pocock gone, Ripia still gone. Blues should be too strong for the Force, although the Force loosies are still a good unit even with Pocock out.

    Brumbies 2011

That line is gold! And apt for Gits. I reckon that Austin's next video should be a collage of Gits crabbing vs the Reds, culminating in the epic crab where he crabs beyond his winger, and is forced to crab back the other way.

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

Considering buying up some 'Saders: Carter, Read and SBW, plus Bismarck at hooker. Pat Lambie from the Sharks (incorrectly listed as an outside back!), though, could be a great buy ahead of SBW. Pat Lambie may actually be one of the buys of the round, as the Sharks should destroy the Rebels...

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

I fluked 441 points this week, a great result really. Totally undeserved, too. That got me 420 points for the round, and 219 overall. Adam Thomson on 67 (!!!) and Kade Poki on 68 are what did it for me, plus Ben Alexander on 54. Sivi, my captain, managed to score 35 (so 70 when doubled)...

Pocock's injury will cost me dearly. Don't think I've had too good a week so far.

Brumbies vs Reds, week 3 2011

iPhone outa batteries so that's it from me for the night. Brumbies season may be close to over. Reds need to improve a lot still to keep theirs on track.

Brumbies vs Reds, week 3 2011

Gits injured his shoulder. Also copped a stray elbow to the head from Cooper. Gee unconvincing win from the Reds there. Their attack just didn't get going.

Brumbies vs Reds, week 3 2011

Reds steal the lineout They lose it and brumbies run it. They get to the 22 and Cooper steals it in the tackle and it rolls out. Reds win!!!!!! Crowd boos
