You were definitely being defiant in your post.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

I agree. There's a region missing from the 4 listed. One that has produced a plethora of RL talent and could do the same for Rugby. That being the South West of the City.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Agreed. It's the way it needs to be. I'm not sure many clubs could muster say $250,000 it could cost on their own, well not too many in Sydney at least. But I think it would be doable for some and for any looking to join forces. If the ARU can secure a TV/Sponsorship deal any money could be...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

That's why its all being played in Sydney across three facilities. It's an attempt to keep costs down as there isn't the interest to maintain it as a seasonal competition. Starts and ends in a month.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Between three ovals I think. North Sydney, Bankstown and Hurstville.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Most importantly, it will be of high quality.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

That was what I was thinking.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

As much as I want a 3rd Tier I don't want it just so we can say we have a competition that is the equal of the the ITM Cup by having 10 teams etc. What we desperately need is a competition that isn't as good as one or the other but better. While having ten teams would be nice, if they are to...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

It mentions amalgamated teams would be an option. That's likely how it will need to be for many to participate. This is effectively a means of resurrecting something very similar in structure to the ARC but this time have the clubs driving the need to join forces to participate instead of in...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

I'd even go with just 6 to begin with similar to the Currie Cup. Having watched both it and the ITM Cup this season I actually think that the CC has been the higher quality competition. Over time as depth improves you can look to enter extra teams. Ideally, in time we should be looking at...

    Cheers.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Interesting proposal but I'll point out the first flaw and that's the Syd and Bris teams in the ITM Cup. That's not going to happen. The NZRU are pretty adamant about that. I actually think it's fairly simple. We already have five squads of contracted players. Use them. Push club Rugby in...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Mate, what your suggesting is unworkable and would do far more damage than good. Personally, we should probably go for a 10 team competition at most. Based around rep lines where possible. Super B would be the easiest to implement but I'd like to see it played after Club Rugby. You have the five...

All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

An undefeated RC would certainly suggest they are the more brutal team. It's actually a trademark of NZ Rugby across the board. If you look at the result of the GC 7s not only in the final but throughout the whole event, you would have noted that they hit the ruck harder than any other team...

All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

Mate, we should take it as a compliment. The Wallabies showed a significant boost in performance and the trolling is just a mask in recognition of that. We still have a long way to go. The forwards need someone to put a rocket up them but there's hope once again.

All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

I agree with everything you say, but at the moment he's a passenger at a time when we really cannot afford anyone to be off their game. He may need time on the bench to give him that rev up, seem's to have worked for Genia or a good pre-season away from the Test arena to get his body and mind...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

So when Super Rugby franchises are looking to both NZ and SA for talent to fill roster spots in our current 5 squads, you want us to scrap that and go to 20 teams. I think you completely misunderstand the entire point of the proposed structureand the current Super Rugby strucuture. It's about quality. Not dots on...

ARU moves to kill off club player payments: A 3rd tier, club rugby and the $60k persuader

What I found interesting was that he alluded to the cuts that are currently underway and possibly still to come could be to make the goal of achieving one or another more accessible financially. That and he mentioned they were working on strengthen the U20 pathway.

    Shute Shield 2014

In my experience it was the youngest guys who needed a year to developed that played in 3rds. Though if you were good enough you played in the top grades.

    Waratahs 2014

Could have been a contributing factor. It's a hell of a gamble but you have to admire his guts if it's a calculated move and he has chosen to back himself.
