I think it could as well. Though, they will need to market it aggressively to ensure they get the interest required.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that New York City has a population of 8 million and around 19 million within its greater metropolitian area.

We do need to compete. But to do that we need to offer the best possible product. We need to be very careful when determining that balance. At present we could produce 8 good quality teams that would provide that product. Ten teams could very well be two teams too far at this point. I'm not...

New York is actually the anti-thesis to your argument. They have two Baseball teams (Yankees and Mets), two Ice Hockey (Ranger and Islanders), two Basketball (Knicks and Brooklyn Nets) and soon will have two Soccer teams in the Red Bulls and the re-birth of the Cosmos.

When I mentioned Strathfield I wasn't including as part of Western Sydney. Though, I will say not all of Western Sydney is as soci-economically challenged as many assume. Blacktown would be an interesting choice but in terms of centrality properly a decent choice if appropriate facilities...

I think three teams in Sydney is the appropriate number for now and into the future as long as any Western Sydeny team looks to form bounds with the outlying regions. The whole Syd South West region means very little to those who live there. As far as they are concerned they live in Sydney's...

Everything west of Strathfield, everthing south of the M2 extending north only to include Richmond and everything west of the Shire. In terms of outliers to Western Sydney both the Macarthur region and the Blue Mountains can be counted.

Western Sydney isn't a generic description to those who live in Western Sydney. It's something they identify with and acknowledge. There's very much a feeling that Sydney is effectively is two distinct cities in one. That's why the Western Sydney Wanderers work so well with many Sydney FC fans...

Been away for a few days so have had some catching up to do. First of all, any country entrant from NSW will need to be one of the Sydney centric country unions. In terms of the one who'll likely be the most competitive then it would be Newcastle/Hunter followed by the Illawarra and then Central...

The articles in relation to this state that in theproposal the club rung will move forward into line with Super Rugby and the NRC will run through roughly the same window as test rugby much like the ITM Cup.

I think the pint with the whole marquee structure is to ensure the vast majority of playing talent is available for national selection and it should stay that way.

That's why the presence of a Western Sydney team is vital. There are very large Islander population in and around Penrith, Campbelltown and Blacktown.

Marconi Stadium would be another option as would Syndey United's set up.

    Scotland v Australia, Murrayfield, 5am 24 Nov 2013

I've been pleasantly surprised by Simmons play as I've always been somewhat skeptical of his abilities. The thing that still concerns me is the nature of the penalties he gives away. Many are still too silly. I see he's trying to be an enforcer. That's fine but he needs to be smarter about it.

I don't know about the merchandise, sponsorship (though I think that was minimal) or gate takings but I do know that there was no income from broadcasting the competition. That was an expense as they had to pay the ABC to show it much like the current arrangement for the SS. From memory and...

I'm fairly certain that with the initial attempt the ARU had forecast a loss for 4 or 5 seasons. So it wasn't unexpected. It was the expenses involved in running the Melboune squad and the accommodation needs that caught them off guard. And from what I can remember the $5m loss was what it cost...

I don't think we'll the same sort of grounds and travel arrangements to that of the ARC in this version. With the Rebels now in place their will likely be no need to find accommodation for imports which formed a significant part of the million dollar blowout the original Melbourne ARC squad...

Might be a truncated Super B format. Which hopefully means it will be the like of Rebel Rising, Brumby Runners etc.
