3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

I was just kidding Hugh. Though, some time ago there was an attempt to get something up and running via some posters in The Roar and it was conveyed to the two main instigators that the ARU were aware of the efforts.

Australian Rugby Union (ARU) - Positivity Thread

I'm almost certain he's a lurker here. After the details of the preferred club championship were released and they closely mimicked a model discussed on here a fortnight or so beforehand.

    Waratahs 2014

I was wondering who that lump of a figure was keeled over in a pic I saw. I now know.

    Rebels 2014

If that's true, then he hasn't learnt a bloody thing.

    Galloping Greens

Bugger. I remember Paul. I actually played for the Clovelly Eagles when I moved across from to play under the RDRUFC feeder clubs. Sorry to hear of his passing.

    Shute Shield 2014

You know what, I actually don't mind these proposed changes.

He was more a NH style of centre. Most NH centres are traditional hard running, line benders. They still are when you consider the likes of Tuilagi, Roberts, Davies etc. There job is to gain ground over the advantage line and redirect the attack. At the I think Sidey is effective. However, in...

ASICS partners with Australian Rugby Union from 2014

That's my concern. I've lost a good bit of weight since the beginning of the year but my chest hasn't really shrunk with the rest of my body thanks to weight training. The concern would be while it would fit in one area it could be loose in others.
  9. WorkingClassRugger

    Rebels 2014

I'm sorry I wasn't trying to deride his career. More that his style wasn't as conducive with Super Rugby as it was with the NH style of the game. I actually think he would have had a much more successful career in Europe than he did in Super Rugby.

    Rebels 2014

And sorry to be cruel but it could be suggested that Super Rugby was a little much for him at times.

God, I love Cheika as the Tahs coach. A man of action.

That could work. Frankly, even that modest figure would be better than at present.

How to play Prop when the Ref isn't watching

It's that attitude that perpetuates our apparent inability to scrummage. You'll note that I said that shifting the position of where weight is applied and twisting through the push are fine. It's part of the game in that position. But using tactics that could put at the very least your opponent...

I agree. The only issue is they need to find the money to do so. But yes, there's no shame in copying a good initiative.

How to play Prop when the Ref isn't watching

There's another option out there. It's called beating your opponent physically. In my experience only the guys incapable of competing physically looked to the "tricks" of the trade. I personally hate tactics that add to the possible dangers that can be involved at scrum time. Sure, you do use...

Maximising the opportunity of Rugby 7s in Australia

They're now trying to get OzTag to join them as well.

Maximising the opportunity of Rugby 7s in Australia

I think we could. We may actually be surprised how successful it would be particularly in the public sector where the sports options are more limited.
