    Springbokke vs Wallabies: Newlands

As pointed out on the dark forum this article is in error. GS chopped his hair off years ago. Shoot the journo.

    Springbokke vs Wallabies: Newlands

Nah. He has better defense than them. Fell off two tackles in the second AB test but during the Super 14 his defense was very good. In the Lions series during the second test he pulled off an amazing try saving tackle immediately after he came on. Worried about JdV who has looked right off the...

Rugby at the Olympics - Petition

You call yourself a dickhead and the Soccer world cup pointless in one post. I find that interesting.

    Springbokke vs Wallabies: Newlands

First time I read that I almost thought you had said "when Horwill punches Sharpe for a deliberate forward pass". Almost fell off my chair but then I thought that scenario isn't entirely out of the question. It would be preceded by "How many times do I have to ask you to hit a ruck you...

    Springbokke vs Wallabies: Newlands

So it's a choice between the seasoned professional who is in good form and the guy who has played a couple of tests off the bench? I know who I'd pick. I think you'd be best served with Pocock joining Smith after 50 or 60. I wouldn't write Stirling off yet. He pulls out big games against the Boks.

    Springbokke vs Wallabies: Newlands

Thanks for the invite oom but my next trip to SA will likely be for the soccer if the promised tickets surface. As for the game I think it's very hard indeed to call. Good things about this Bok team: - The back row starting to really look good. Juan Smit back on form and Spies is now really...

    Boks vs. AB's in Durban

The Boks look more fit to me than I have ever seen them. Not worried about that. More worried about the ability to get up mentally three weeks in a row which is anything, could be their undoing.

    Boks vs. AB's in Durban

Yes in isolation that makes sense. But not having a specialist loose forward doesn't. Rossouw covers well at loosie late in a game but not against the AB's if say after 20 mins Brossow gets injured. Also, not many teams have the luxury of putting two props on the bench in a 4/3 split. We should...

    Boks vs. AB's in Durban

Yeah some very curious bench selections. Bekker makes no sense and the only reason both Adi and Olivier are on the bench is because of Pienaar's injury, else he would be there. The bottom line is that as long as they are fit, Januarie, Jacobs and Ralapele will be in the 22. Franks looks the...

Might see it won on away bonus points again? I think away victories will be tough as ever this year.

Rumour of the week: Tahu back to League?

An in most cases I would guess they were young and had more money offered to them from League at the time than they would have earned in rugby. I think this whole fallout is good for rugby. Earn it first by showing you actually have the ability and remove the doubt that young Union guys might...

The breakdown is putting me off rugby at this time

Can't recall the specific incident but in principle I agree. There is a lot of cynical play these days.

The breakdown is putting me off rugby at this time

He warned the AB's after 20. They continued to infringe for another 60. He never warned the Boks until very late in the game. Should have carded the ABs early for cynical play at the ruck and constant obstructions at kickoff and when they put up kicks. Didn't have the balls to pull a card.

The breakdown is putting me off rugby at this time

Half the problem lies with the refs. Get tough early on and things will get a lot better. Case in pount this past weekend. AB's should have had one in the bin after 10 minutes in the first half and again in the second. They were playing with a complete disrespect for the rules and the ref didn't...

SA: Who will go and who will stay?

That's too quick to write Vermaak off. One bad performance behind a losing pack. HE is still easily the second best 9 in SA. Sadly he is sure to take the first offer that comes his way. Much a waste like Claassens who should have been the Bok's backup for years.

    When is Rocky back???

I think they will shift Carter into the starting lineup as quick as they can.

    Saffa v Kiwi. Bloem.

From a Bok perspective: Positives Scrum is in the improve. I was worried after the first two but they went quite well although it's a work in progress Juan Smit is rediscovering form and his combination with Brussow is superb. More game time for M Steyn who was good all round I thought Frans...

SA: Who will go and who will stay?

Olivier and Fourie could be great for the Stormers. Now all you need is to get rid of Sireli (fuck me he is useless - botched that try against the Bulls last weekend) and find a couple of tight head props. Where is Grant going? De Waal will hold the Stormers back. They will not make a Super...

    15th team

Would it really be possible to build a franchise there? Surely most people will continue to support the Tahs? Seems to me the only real opportunity is a completely new market, ie Melbourne.
