Quade telling it how it is

Surprise surprise QC (Quade Cooper) announces on ch 9 that he will not sign with ARU, is looking at O/S Rugby.Mungo & Boxing. Amazing how Boxing has become a bigger farce than wrestling...

Quade telling it how it is

Quade signed a 1 year contract prior to RWC, since he signed this contract his performance at Test level has varied from adequate to poor. Why should he be the only player in the squad where form is not a consideration? Forget all the other bullshit that surrounds him, look at the player ratings...

But they keep doing don't they? Why would any of them pay big bucks to see if Benjy can even play the game? I'm sure they would have plenty of clauses about fitness etc.

I think your wrong HJ, I reckon we haven't heard from Quade cos he's too busy trying to work out how you eat rice bubbles with chopsticks. When you consider Benjy has been offered big bucks in Japan, there would still be interest for Quade at a higher level than what the Reds can pay.

Quade telling it how it is

To be fair, JON imposing a salary cap has complicated matters somewhat. The Reds should be free to pay him whatever they believe he is worth to them. But they are constrained by the cap.

Quade telling it how it is

I thought that the Reds off field support improved this year, and is on target to improve next year? Quade had little game time this year. I think you insult the administration, coaching staff and playing squad to suggest that these increases in support are down to Quade. I also believe that...

Quade telling it how it is

Why? His Test form for the past 18 months is ordinary at best. If the issue is his commercial value to the Reds, shouldn't the Reds be responsible for that? Or should the other franchises subsidise the Reds?

GAGR Vote - Should Deans go after the EOYT?

I get where you are coming from Jets,I am a Tahs supporter, so antipathy for the coach is not an alien experience for me. I just think the haters should hold their fire after a good win. It's not like they will be starved of opportunities, I don't think anyone thinks this is the start of a long...

GAGR Vote - Should Deans go after the EOYT?

I thought the win was a good one. Anyone calling for RD's sacking on the back of that game is being churlish. Suck it up, death ride him all you like but don't whinge after a good win. We all know there will be plenty of opportunities in the future to stick the boot in.

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

My dear man, one should know that the 737 is not suitable for such a long haul, as it's range is hopelessly limited. My closest family only, join me on our flight, as the Global Express only sleeps 8 comfortably. Extended family usually fly commercially I would imagine. Perhaps I should ask them?

    Deans contract extension

Who could they bring in to the squad? With the injury toll, they have brought in quite a few who normally would not be considered at this stage of their careers. Some are even talking about bringing in a 9 who has yet to start in super Rugby! I think the cupboard is bare of untried Test calibre...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

They deserve to be on a pedastal, they are on a different level than any of their peers. NO ONE has as many Scholarship boys in their first XV as New. I wonder how many of their 1st's next year actually started in year 7?

New funding streams for Australian Rugby

True, the ARU gets what they are given, but my recollection is that the ARU seats are dearer than comparable seats if bought locally.

New funding streams for Australian Rugby

Not even average seats when they are playing away. They charge top dollars for these crap seats as well.

Australia v. France 10 Nov 2012 Stade de France, Paris

If the 12 hits the line with low body height to prevent being held up, then he goes to ground and HAS to place the ball. Every time McCabe is criticised for the way he hits it up, by coincidence the piggies have had a shocker and have been dominated at contact. In the modern game it is an...

Ok get your point now, but that's always going to be the case when kids are graded by year. Interesting statistic I have read is that January kids have 25% more chance of making rep teams, whilst December babies 33% less chance.

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

Good luck to the kids involved, but picking winners at 15 is an effing joke. As a side note, they purport that they are not looking for candidates that shine at Schoolboy level, but for kids that will mature post colts age. Yet they invariably pick players at a young age that are more physically...

Huh? If he turned 16 this year he does not qualify to play 15's. Or are you saying something different?

    Shute Shield 2013

Hugh, the sad reality is the SS is a two tiered competition. The top 5/6 are a standard deviation above the others. IIRC there have always been 2 or so teams that struggled in the SS, but never 1/2 the comp. It seems to me that fewer future rep players are cutting their teeth in the SS, it is...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

If there is anyone who believes that "the cream always rises to the top"please explain to me the point of these elite squads. Surely these "deserving kids"(as pompously described by a parent in a thread last year)are going to be Wallaby superstars with or without these squads? If so why have the...
