    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Well, essentially there are games on at set time slots. Most Fridays we have a 5:30 game and a 7:30 game and usually the same on Saturday. We could do it as part of the negotiations. SA get a 6th team for us to have a number of set games in advantageous time zones. I also agree. I don't think...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Have to say the performances of the Vic and WA boy's has been very encouraging for the game at the junior level in terms of quality across the board. I even noticed the SA boy's results weren't all that terrible which considering I would have thought they would have struggled the most in a...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Well, the CEO of Ten did state that they were looking to make Rugby their major sport. Hopefully that may mean them picking up Super Rugby.

    USA and Canadian Rugby

Just thought I had to make it clear that while there are some good athletes not all of them are Sydney grade 1st or 2nd XV standard. Even though I thought I had made it clear in my first post on the topic. I should also like to point out that subbies in Sydney particularly in the 1st division...

I said the teams were a mixture of differing talent levels.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

So roughly half way through its launch season, how is everyone who's involved on the sideline assessing its success in terms of quality of competition and the benefits being provided to the players? Is 24 centres a few too many or just right? Lots of questions could be asked.

    USA and Canadian Rugby

They sort of have in the past with the Rugby Super League and in a way the PRP is another attempt at it. The issue is as it always has been money. That said, the set up of the 12 City-based squads for the qualification to the World Club 7s is the first steps to building something more...

    S18 on its way

Who knows? This is SANZAR after all. Would be interesting to see if it does begin to move that way as it had from memory 6 conferences with 7 or 8 teams per conference. Like I said. I always thought it was a bit fanciful but there does appear to be some interest. Though, again from memory...

    S18 on its way

While I don't think they should be looking to expand too rapidly into new markets I tend to disagree with the belief it will necessarily dilute the competition. They would only occur if we kept sourcing talent from the three main talent pools. Like I've said previously, there's a world of talent...

I really wish I could find an article I read prior to the Rebels being included. It gave what at the time I thought was a speculative vision for Super Rugby. If these murmurs are true. It may have not been too far from the mark.

    Super Rugby Television Ratings 2014

Yeah, but they don't mention those facts which makes it difficult. I've heard that in terms of private households it's actually closer to 18%-20% but it's hard to get a difinitive answer.

    Super Rugby Television Ratings 2014

According to Foxtel they have around 2.5 million subscribers and in the 2011 census there were 9.117 million households in Australia. So a tad under 28% of households.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Thought the ACT bid was a combined Brumbies/Vikings bid or am I mistaken?

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It certainly appears to be the case. I think they seem to think that they can get away with it because the Rugby media (what little there is) tends to be the most critical of all the codes. They see us criticizing our game and they jump on board snowballing the effect.

Of course all three don't play the same style. The SA brand is fairly obvious. Though, I don't think it's as brutal as many like to make it out to be.

Did you watch the Tahs/Reds game on the weekend? If NZ teams want hardnosed and physical they'll get it when they face the Tahs this season.

    Reds 2014

I think your point re: conviction is testament to exactly how dominant and smothering the Tahs were physically. The Reds weren't allowed to play with any kind of continuity or conviction as the Tahs were so intent on snuffing it out from the first whistle.
