I don't think that's the case at all......... but as others have put forward - what are our realistic expectations from this competition, and based on that what would be deemed a "success?"

I don't think it will be strong enough to merge with Super Rugby, but where I think it can be successful is as a tier below Super Rugby acting as another development/feeder pathway and possibly merging with the NRC............ although I don't know how the clubs will feel about that. In saying...

The issue is that if they have their eye on any Wallabies or other test stars - most top players will already be contracted through to the end of 2019 as they chase RWC ambitions......... As we've seen in the past, there likely won't be much player movement until the end of that year.

How many of them post on this board? I think a combined G&GR team would be pretty competitive......... I haven't suited up in nearly two decades, and my knee is fucked........ but first dibs on the 8 jersey.

I also think it's great, and I've repeatedly said as much............ my posts are quite clearly directed at the deluded few who believe this is somehow going to shake up the ARU and threaten the Soup. It could be fantastic for the lower tiered Asian countries participating.

How much money to play for Sri Lanka, Brunei or the Solomon Islands?

Who are they going to draw away from Super Rugby, Europe or even the Japanese league by what's being offered so far? Locally, maybe some fringe NRC and club players but that's about it.
