Perth Spirit v Greater Sydney Rams

Iro Ironically it was this squad that beat the Vikings in Canberra and the predomonantly Force squad that lost to City in Perth last week.

Perth Spirit v Greater Sydney Rams

The stream that was being worked on fell through.

NH Rays v NSW Country Eagles, NRC round 3

How exactly is it a 'hybrid' game? Which game is it being split with? Don't say League because that's clearly not the cases. The law variations have had very little structural effect on the game. The scrims have been clean and performed in a timely manner. The lineouts have been good. The refs...

NH Rays v NSW Country Eagles, NRC round 3

Windsor has been impressive. Actually I was impressed with the ref tonight. Thought he did a really good job of it. Some of the WA posters were critical of him last week but he got nearly everything right tonight and let the game flow.

Supposedly over three thousand there tonight.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

As someone who watches every ITM Cup game each round I disagree with you. However, would you care to perhaps highlights the areas in which the NRC is Deficient in comparison to the ITM Cup. Of the two games this evening. The NRC game as the better of the two.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Any word on the structure of the competition. Will it maintain the 24 centres or will that number be reduced somewhat?

    NRC Expansion

Interesting thought. Considering our traditional links with Tongan Heritage players it may be worth a look. But they would need to be based here and funded by the IRB. Would be a good level of play for the local teams. Certainly add some flavour to the competition.

    NRC Expansion

Neither do I. As you mention consolidation is more likely. I don't know if the Stars on field showings are a sign of vulnerability. More a flawed system. Sourcing talent out of two clubs one in the sunnies comp is showing to be a leap too far at present.

    NRC Expansion

Funny. From what I can remember the Hamilton Club was the spearhead behind the Newcastle interest.

    NRC Expansion

True. Population figures aren't an indicator. However, The NHRU is the strongest competition outside of the Shute Shield in NSW. Probably the next best outside the Super Rugby bases. Outside of those it would be the best next candidate to expand into in the future providing they have the finances. The...

    NRC Expansion

It's a bloody big town. I think you'll find it is classified as a city much the same as Wollongong is. Has more than 50,000 people in a regional centre qualifies.

    The League Media

I'd be genuinely shocked if we came to some level of agreement. Genuinely shocked. Nor do I expect to convert anyone. My issue is the perpetuation of fallacies in regard to Rugby being a slower and/or less skilful game. It's not. I grew watching and playing both. With guys who are professionals...

    The League Media

Lots of "more professional" clubs agree. Every year a number of the guys playing in the ITM Cup get picked up by clubs overseas. Japan, England, France, the Celtic nations. All have two tiers of leagues where guys can go and play in. You can still make good money in Italy and now both Russia and...

    The League Media

You don't actually watch the ITM Cup do you or Super Rugby for that matter? The ITM Cup is far from slow and some of the skills on display are phenomenal. Well above what's displayed in the NRL most weeks. Fact.

Stars vs Rising, 31 August at Leichart

Necessary evil of a competition such as this in order to keep costs manageable. City flew into Perth last night from the looks of tier twitter account. Perth appears to be the only local where that will happen. Wouldn't shock me if they were on a plane out of there at around 8 pm our time.

Really poor promotion and very little visiblity. I am still coming across people who are regular Super Rugby watchers but are unaware that it has started. The ARU and State Unions need to really push hard in their promotion via their mailing lists and clubs. Offer deals. Free entry for kids etc.
