    Rebels 2020

Are you sure it's not the pink budgie smugglers? Worn incorrectly?

    Wallabies 2020

Completely. It seems likely that we wll see both JOC (James O'Connor) and To'omua in the 15 but we really need to start blooding a future 10.If that is Lolesio, fine. Harrison, fine. But whoever needs to be fed into game time.

You guys reckon we’ll take two from the ABs? Wow.

    Wallabies 2020

Can only agree. Love the guy but that first one was outrageous, and I can’t call the second unlucky. He has obviously tried to address it and with some success. He does need to keep that improvement going.

    Wallabies 2020

In Sept 2020 is this actually the case. Like White he has had little time to demonstrate form. IF his form matched his best then there is a case, he just has not shown it with the limited game time he has had. I might select him at 15 anyway, combination of international experience, AB...

    2020 crowds and ratings

So you agree that advertising could (should) have an impact? The rest of what you say I am with. But it wasn’t the initial proposition. Foxtel advertise heavily in other codes but steadfastly have done little or nothing with rugby. It is not outrageous to expect that your broadcaster will...

    Wallabies 2020

    Wasn’t that 2019/20?

    2020 crowds and ratings

BH I don’t think it’s a leap in logic at all. It is the actual purpose of advertising. There are plenty of Wallaby supporters who don’t do Super but are still potential targets. I’d be surprised if those guys would not have tried the finals in non-trivial numbers had they been targeted.

    Wallabies 2020

Locks are the engine house of go forward in the pack. Loosies have other roles and the front row doesn’t necessarily have the legs after 15 scrum re-sets. Simmons is a line out guru and has a huge rep in the scrum. But his pick and drive is a pick and flop. He just doesn’t have the muscle...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

@ half China, Trump and Johnson are contributing to your rugby enjoyment malaise? Fark me, man. Just let the rugby be an out on the world shite. I am befuddled by those issues too, but damned if I’ll let it interrupt the rugby. One thing on the domestic comp issue. COVID has forced a...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Two things Dan. 1. With 5 teams and open to Kiwis, it shouldn’t be hard to ensure better opportunity for Aus talent compared with 2 or 3 teams and no Kiwis. 2. Yep you are right. High end talent is only affordable to the Aus teams with RA top up and that is not going to happen for Kiwi...

At 30 a good prop is just entering his prime and could have 5 or 6 years left.

    Wallabies 2020

It is a specific talent. Bit like 9 needs to be able to read ruck strategy, 10 needs to be able to read the game play, and 15 should be able to manage the back line. Reading the line out is a talent and not every lock is good at it. At international level you really want the line out caller to...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Opening up AB selection criteria to Kiwis playing in the comp whether the team is Kiwi or Aus - no it won’t likely result in immediate defection of ABs from Kiwi team to Aus teams. New talent coming through, especially where missing opportunity in NZ, currently have a disincentive to trying...

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

    Eh?

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

Can only agree with that. Though you actually did. Funny the Brumbies fans headed that way.

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

White entered the fray at a point where JOC (James O'Connor) had recognised Reds were failing the territory battled and amped up kicking for gain. White saw it and responded to the threat. Tactically I thought this was rational. But he also had a man up with the Reds defence engine throttled with a missing...

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

Yes there is positioning for a kick return, then there is defending in the channel.

Super Rugby Au Final - Brumbies v Reds

Lolesio stood behind a (generally) dominant attack or his team was gifted territory by Red errors and penalties. He did not have to work as hard as JOC (James O'Connor). Lolesio, Quade-like is protected in D back at full back, where JOC (James O'Connor) defends the 10 slot. He did make a great drop, which is cool. But I don’t...
